Shots fired in overnight apartment complex attack
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police are investigating a shooting at The Park at New Castle apartments off Quince Road in Southeast Memphis. Officers received the call about a shooting in the 6800 block of Birch Lake Drive around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. 3 gunshot victims arrive at hospital: MPD
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A shooting in North Memphis reportedly left three people injured on Sunday evening. According to Memphis Police, at 5:52 p.m., officers were called to Regional One Hospital after several gunshot victims had arrived. Police say there were a total of three shooting victims. All three are currently in non-critical condition, according to police. Victims of I-40 crash identified Officers reportedly determined that the shooting had occurred on Hastings Street off of Jackson Avenue. MPD: Man accused of shooting victim after an argument
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is accused of shooting at another man after an argument at a North Memphis store, Memphis Police said. On May 31, 2025, at 3:00 a.m., officers responded to a shooting at Food Mart located at 2456 Chelsea Avenue. A male victim was struck and taken to the hospital in non-critical condition. Police said surveillance footage captured a silver sedan, possibly a Ford Fusion, with heavy damage on the passenger side pulling into the business parking lot. The male passenger of the sedan got into a brief physical altercation with an unknown male. Data says there have been 17 homicides in Frayser this year After the altercation, the passenger got back in the car, and the vehicle went north on Hollywood. Muzzle flashes were seen coming from the passenger-side front window of the sedan. The male victim was in a vacant lot adjacent to the business when he was struck. Police have described the suspect as a man around 5'6″ wearing a black shirt, jeans and Crocs. Data says there have been 17 homicides in Frayser this year
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The investigation into the death of a man outside a Frayser shopping center continues. Now, Memphis Police are asking for the public's help to bring the suspect to justice. 'It's getting worse. It's going to get worse,' a Frayser resident said. People working at the Frayser Village Shopping Center on Frayser Boulevard went about their Sunday morning as usual. However, some employees WREG spoke with said they are still processing the events that happened the day before. Memphis Police said a man was shot and killed. The brazen attack has customers and people living nearby talking. Those WREG spoke with did not want to go on camera for their own safety. Man killed in Frayser shooting 'I said, 'Did the security guard shoot him?' I thought maybe he was stealing,' a resident said. 'They said, 'No. It was another person who shot him.' And you know that's a norm out here.' Surveillance video viewed by WREG showed a man leaving a tobacco store. Suddenly, a man wearing a black hoodie and a ski mask appears, shoots the victim and runs off. Police said that the suspect fled in a silver late-model sedan. All of this took place in broad daylight while the parking lot was packed with unsuspecting shoppers. 'Don't nobody care who they shoot,' a resident said. 'They just shooting.' We spoke with a woman who works at a nearby business, who said she's still traumatized by the act of violence. She said she even tried to help the victim, but it was too late. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Man hospitalized after Frayser shooting This shooting comes after a violent start to the year in the Frayser community. According to the City of Memphis Safer Communities dashboard, there have been 248 aggravated assaults and 17 murders in the 38127 zip code this year. Just hours after the shopping center shooting, another man was shot in the 3700 block of Donna Drive, only two miles away. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition and one person was detained. People WREG spoke with said they fear the violence is only going to get worse. 'You can't say more police because they're out here. They are out here,' a resident said. 'You see them all day long, but it's like they don't care about the police. They don't even care about going to jail.' Police said the Frayser Boulevard shooting is an ongoing investigation.
