Popular Indonesian singer Kris Dayanti has decided to fulfil her dream of furthering her studies at university at the age of 50. According to Indonesian media outlet Suara, although the celebrity has achieved success both in entertainment and politics, Kris firmly believes that the pursuit of knowledge should never stop. 'Only now do I have the opportunity, so this is the right time," she said. "Education is a part of life that never stops. So it's a good time to seek knowledge at any time in our lives. To me, there's no such thing as being too late." The Menghitung Hari singer revealed that she will be starting a new semester this coming September at the Open University, majoring in Government Studies under the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. She added that her desire to continue studying had existed for a long time but was postponed due to work commitments since her youth. 'I never had the chance to enter university after finishing high school. I did once take a public communication course. "From a young age, I've been used to working to earn a living, and until now, I'm still working,' she said. At the same time, Kris Dayanti sees her current studies not merely as a pursuit of a degree, but as a way to strengthen the knowledge and experience she gained while serving as a Member of Parliament in Indonesia for the 2019–2024 term. 'While in parliament, I learned a lot, and now I want to continue that process formally through education. "To me, no matter your age, what's important is that we keep contributing (to society),' she added.
