Mesa County Public Health issues No Burn Advisory
MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) – Mesa County Public Health has issued a No Burn Advisory until further notice effective at 5:30 p.m. Thursday due to dry conditions and strong winds. The National Weather Service issued both Thursday and Friday with Red Flag Warnings because low humidity, strong winds and dry conditions. Burning of any kinds, including agricultural burning, is strictly prohibited during this period. Recall issued by Mesa County Public Health
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Mesa County Public Health sent out a news release Tuesday morning, recalling Lyons Magnus' frozen supplemental shakes. The release stated the recall was issued due to listeria monocytogenes concerns. The shakes were packaged in 4-ounce cartons under the Lyons ReadyCare and Sysco Imperial brand names. The products were distributed nationwide and were not available for retail sale. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, there have been 38 illnesses associated with the strain of listeria monocytogenes that may have contaminated these products, including 11 deaths. Anybody in possession of these products should quarantine them. Frozen supplemental shakes are being recalled
MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) – Certain Lyons Magnus products are being recalled after a possible contamination of Listeria monocytogenes, Mesa County Public Health announced Tuesday. The products are frozen supplement shakes in 4-ounce cartons under the Lyons ReadyCare and Sysco Imperial brand names. They were distributed nationwide, mostly to long-term care facilities, and were not available for retail sale, MCPH said. Descriptions of the recalled products are: ReadyCare frozen vanilla shake with a best by date of 022125 to 022126. ReadyCare frozen chocolate shake with a best by date of 022125 to 022126. ReadyCare frozen strawberry shake with a best by date of 022125 to 022126. Imperial frozen vanilla shake with a best by date of 022125 to 022126. Imperial frozen chocolate shake with a best by date of 022125 to 022126. Imperial frozen strawberry shake with a best by date of 022125 to 022126. Listeria can cause serious infection in young children, older adults, people with weakened immune systems and pregnant women and their newborns. Symptoms include fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and gastrointestinal issues. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said 38 illnesses and 11 deaths have been associated with the strain of Listeria monocytogenes possibly found in the frozen supplement shakes. Air quality concerns extend No Burn Advisory until further notice
