Five stabbed in south east London as police launch manhunt

The Metropolitan police are investigating after five people were seriously assaulted in Thamesmead. Officers were called at 04:19 on Saturday, 17 May, to Nathan Way, following reports of multiple people injured at an event. Emergency services attended and found five people with stab wounds. They were taken to hospital, where their injuries are being assessed. A crime scene remains in place and enquiries are ongoing. No arrests have been made. Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or message @MetCC on X quoting reference 1106/17MAY25. A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder over the disappearance of a 54-year-old woman who has been missing since September. Nazire Koreli, from Welling, south-east London, has not been seen since September last year, but was only reported missing to the police on February 28. Detectives said she has lots of friends in the area and are appealing for anyone who has seen her since September to contact them. She is described as slim, with light brown hair and olive skin. A man aged in his fifties was arrested on Monday on suspicion of murder, and remains in custody. Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley said: 'Our officers have made multiple inquiries to locate Nazire. 'We are keeping an open mind and this is currently being managed as a missing person investigation. 'Officers have arrested a man in connection with Nazire's disappearance who remains in custody. 'Nazire had many friends and acquaintances in the Bexley area, so we are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen her from September 2024 to March this year.' Three girls charged with killing 75-year-old man

Three girls have been charged with killing a 75-year-old man who died in north London. The man, named on Saturday as Fredi Reviro, was attacked on Seven Sisters Road in Islington at about 11.35pm on Thursday, the Metropolitan Police said. He was treated by officers and paramedics at the scene but died in hospital on Friday. Three teenage girls, aged 14, 16 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm before the man's death but have now been charged with manslaughter. A special post-mortem examination will be held in due course. The man is thought to be a Bolivian national. The girls, who cannot be named because of their age, will appear at Highbury magistrates' court on Monday, the force said. Supt Annmarie Cowley, a senior officer, previously said: 'I know this death will cause shock and very real concern in Holloway and the wider Islington area. I share those concerns, and I want to assure local people that a thorough police investigation is underway. 'There are additional police patrols in the local area. I urge local people to speak with these officers if you have any information or any concerns.'
