Journalists hit the track in Sarawak's first media SIM racing grand prix

KUALA LUMPUR: The inaugural Initial M Media SIM Racing Grand Prix, an initiative that brings together media, technology, and corporate potential in Sarawak's growing e-sports arena was launched in Kuching today (Aug 2). The event is organised by Metadise Electronic Sports Club (MESC), in collaboration with Hazel Communication & Solutions Sdn Bhd (HazelComms) and the Kuching Division Journalist Association (KDJA). Held at Metadise Sim Racing in Kuching, the event unites 9 media organisations and 17 journalists in a dynamic shift from traditional storytelling to immersive virtual racing, demonstrating the exciting potential for marketing, branding and audience engagement. Afiq Fadhli Narawi, President of MESC, said: "What we're seeing with the Initial M Sim Racing Grand Prix is the media taking the lead in a new kind of race, one that blends digital innovation with real audience impact. "This initiative not only showcases the power of immersive engagement, but also sets the stage for corporate brands to harness sim racing as a bold, interactive platform. The media have kicked off the momentum and now it's time for the corporate world to get behind the wheel." MESC believes the upcoming final on August 30 promises a high-energy showdown, complete with awards, exclusive recognitions and high-value content opportunities that will elevate media visibility and brand partnerships alike.
