Hayley Williams Drops Surprise Collection Of 17 New Singles After Mysterious Website Teasing
Last Updated:
Hayley Williams officially released a surprise collection of 17 new singles after posting and deleting them from a website.
Singer and songwriter Hayley Williams released a series of singles on her website earlier this week. Mysteriously, soon after users began navigating the site, the Paramore lead vocalist removed the tracks, sparking curiosity among fans. Now, the 36-year-old has officially released the songs, leaving music enthusiasts shaken by their meanings.
On August 1, Hayley Williams dropped the surprise collection of 17 singles, after initially sharing, and then deleting, them from a previously launched website. The album, self-released under her new venture Post Atlantic, is produced by Daniel James, known for his work on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (2015), Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (2020), and Terminator Genisys (2015). The collection is being distributed via Secretly Distribution.
The rock band artiste's collection of singles also features a few collaborators. These include Brian Robert Jones, Paramore's touring rhythm guitarist, and Joey Howard, who joined the band's touring lineup after bassist Jeremy Davis departed in 2015.
One of the 17 tracks, titled True Believer, was written, recorded and performed almost entirely by Williams herself, with additional contributions from musician and DJ Jim-E Stack.
Other notable tracks from the collection include:
• Mirtazapine: According to the Hard Times hitmaker, this grunge-inspired ode to mental health and antidepressants debuted at the Newport Folk Festival during her surprise appearance.
• True Believer: A downtempo protest song that critiques how Christianity in the American South is often weaponised to spread hate.
• Ice in My OJ: Features a chorus originally sung by Williams in 2004 on Jumping Inside by the Mammoth City Messengers.
When Hayley Williams Shared And Deleted The Songs From A Website
On July 28, Hayley Williams had dropped the 17 songs on a cryptic website with the message, 'Thank you for listening."
Users and fans were also granted access to the site with an access code from the singer's Good Dye Young hair dye brand, a 'Misc" folder with a photo of a lyric book, and a 'Hayley Williams is my favourite band" T-shirt. But roughly a day later, she removed them without giving any clarification.
Look Into Hayley Williams' Solo Music Career
The Paramore lead vocalist previously won hearts with two solo albums: 2020's Petals For Armor and 2021's Flowers for Vases and three EPs.
