Suspect wanted for attempted sexual assault of a child on an RTD light rail train
DENVER (KDVR) — A man is wanted by Denver police for an incident that occurred May 29 on a Regional Transportation District light rail train. According to the Metro Denver Crime Stoppers, a man attempted sexual assault on a child at about 8 p.m. in the 8200 block of East Smith Road while riding the light rail train. Police described the suspect as a Hispanic male, between 30 and 49 years old, standing about 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a medium build and short black hair that's shaved on the sides. Family looking for answers in hit-and-run that killed man celebrating his birthday
DENVER (KDVR) — A family is searching for answers after one of their own was the victim of a hit-and-run on Sunday, May 18, near Interstate 25 and 23rd Avenue. FOX31's Jared Dean spoke with the family of Christopher Tafoya on Sunday about their grief and loss. Tafoya's uncle, Himon Robles, said that he was close to Tafoya and was heartbroken to hear the news of the crash. He said that Tafoya was out celebrating his 27th birthday the night he was hit. 4 taken to hospital after crash on Parker Road near Broncos Parkway 'A nightmare, a nightmare that you wish you could wake up from; a nightmare, you wish would end, but it hasn't,' Robles said. 'It's just very hard to have somebody you have known their whole life to be gone instantly.' Police still don't have any suspects in the crash, but they issued a Crime Stoppers bulletin on Thursday. Still, his family is making funeral arrangements and is left looking for answers. 'We're trying to come together and piece together what happened to him and hopefully there's somebody who seen something that will say something,' Robles said. 'He was out celebrating his birthday and never came back home. You never would've expected that and now we're just trying to find answers to the person who hit him and left him on the side of the road when they have the opportunity to stop, but they decided to go and leave.' Robles told Dean that Tafoya loved his friends, family and god, and said that Dean would have given someone the shirt off his back if needed. 'It's so cliché to say, but it truly is, he's that type of person, he would do anything for you,' Robles said. Robles and other members of Tafoya's family are still holding out hope that someone will come forward and give the family some closure. Stabbing victim sought in Aurora, suspect detained
DENVER (KDVR) — The Aurora Police Department is looking for the victim of a stabbing that was reported on Jamaica Street on Tuesday. The agency said the stabbing was reported at about 6 p.m. at 1420 Jamaica Street, which is the location of an events center. Police said there is no indication that the stabbing had any connection to the events center. She left the scene in a vehicle, and as of 7 p.m., police were still looking for her. The man accused of the stabbing also suffered a superficial stab wound, but police told FOX31 that they believe there is only one victim in the case. $12,000 reward offered in Colorado for couple's unsolved murder, arson
A $12,000 reward has been offered for information that will help solve the murder of a Colorado couple earlier this year. Kendra and Chad Anderson were found deceased inside their home in Thornton just after 11 p.m. on Feb. 26. Investigators said they were found with apparent gunshot wounds inside the home in the 16300 block of Columbine Street. Investigators later confirmed that a fire had been intentionally set in an attempt to conceal the crime. Aurora police: Man shot by suspect he knew, no arrests made yet
DENVER (KDVR) — Police said a man was seriously injured in a shooting involving a suspect he knew early Saturday morning in Aurora, and no arrests have been made. The Aurora Police Department said the shooting happened in the 2200 block of Lima Street around 4:30 a.m. FOX31 Newsletters: Sign up to get breaking news sent to your inbox A local hospital notified police that a man had arrived with gunshot wounds. According to police, the victim said the shooting happened outside and he knew who the suspect was. No arrests have been made as of Saturday afternoon. The police department said investigators are following up on leads, but until they will not be releasing suspect information until investigators can 'properly identify the suspect.'
