JC Alcantara hails Barbie Forteza after ‘P77' collab, hopes to work again with actress
JC Alcantara openly expressed his profound admiration and gratitude for his co-star Barbie Forteza, describing their experience working together on the upcoming film 'P77' as nothing short of a dream job. At the media conference for the horror movie on Tuesday, JC revealed that his admiration for the Kapuso Primetime Princess dates back over a decade. 'Isang karangalan din makatrabaho si Barbie. I'm a fan since 2011,' he said. 'Bata pa lang ako, pinapanood ko na siya. And sobrang grateful ko din. Thankful kasi alam niyo po, sa dinami-daming artista, ako 'yung nabigyan ng chance. Salamat po sa inyo.' The Kapamilya actor admitted to having initial nerves when starting on the project. 'Kinakabahan. Tapos Barbie Forteza pa, ang pangarap kong maka-trabaho,' he said. JC recognized the need to overcome this apprehension to effectively portray his character, Theo, whom he described as a 'mysterious guy from P77.' 'Kailangan hindi ka magpatalo ng kaba kasi horror 'to. So kailangan, matakot ko pa rin siya. Kailangan maparamdam ko pa rin sa kaniya na nandito ako sa character na ito,' he said. His initial jitters quickly gave way to a deeply positive working relationship, with JC finding Barbie to be an absolute joy to work with, even emphasizing her kindness and dedication. 'Sobrang saya katrabaho, sobrang bait, sobrang—makikita mo siya, dedikado siya sa trabaho niya. Nagbabasa siya ng script, nando'n lang siya sa gilid. Ang saya palang katrabaho niya. Ang warm lang,' he said. JC also lauded Barbie's interpersonal skills on set. 'Lahat na nasa paligid talagang bibigyan niya ng pansin kaya ang saya. Sana hindi pa 'to 'yung last,' he added. "P77" is directed by Derick Cabrido, the filmmaker behind the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 entry "Mallari," and produced by GMA Pictures and Clever Minds Inc. CassRen fans, mag-ingay! Cassy Legaspi and Darren Espanto just reunited in a TikTok video and sent their fans kilig! The clip showed the two friends standing close together and looking at each other while Darren's song, "Paalam Muna Sandali," is playing in the background. Darren then heaves a deep sigh and walks away, leaving Cassy alone in the frame. The Sparkle actress puts her hands on her head and pretends to cry over his departure. The singer also posted the video on Instagram, where Cassy's mom, Carmina Villarroel, left a comment. "Hahahahahahahaha. Cute n'yo!" the veteran actress said. Cassy and Darren's closeness was first noticed by fans due an online exchange about cup noodles. In 2023, the pair attended the GMA Gala and the ABS-CBN Ball together. They also traveled to Batangas, Japan, and California. Cassy and Darren were part of the cast of the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 entry "When I Met You In Tokyo." Barbie Forteza clarifies Jameson Blake is just a friend: 'We are not together'
Barbie Forteza has clarified that she and actor Jameson Blake are just friends. In her GMA Integrated News interview with Nelson Canlas, which aired in "24 Oras" Friday, the Kapuso Primetime Princess shared that she and Jameson had worked in a film together and that it was he who invited her to join a run with him. "Actually marami ngang medyo na-confuse kasi papaano naman nagkrus ang landas namin? So nagkasama kami sa pelikula," she said. "Itong recent run namin, siya naman 'yung nag-invite, just like how my other runner friends invite me to run. So 'yun lang 'yun, 'yun lang talaga 'yun. We are not together." Last month, Barbie and Jameson fueled dating rumors after Jameson shared snaps of himself and Barbie joining a 10K run together. In her GMA Integrated News interview, Barbie also talked about her close friendship with Alden Richards, whom she considers among her constants. She likewise refused to discuss the photo of herself and ex-boyfriend Jak Roberto taken at GMA Network's Beyond 75 anniversary event, where they were spotted chatting. Barbie announced their breakup in January after seven years together. As she looked back on her 16 years in the showbiz industry, Barbie admitted that she's had her fair share of highs and lows. Several Kapuso stars are part of the horror, supernatural anthology 'Shake, Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins.' 'Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition' housemates Dustin Yu and Ashley Ortega are part of the movie with fellow Kapuso stars Carla Abellana, Ysabel Ortega, and Manilyn Reynes. Celebrity couple Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legaspi are part of the family drama movie 'Rekonek,' alongside Gerald Anderson, Gloria Diaz, and Alexa Miro. Directed by Jun Lana, 'Call Me Mother,' starring Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre, is also part of the festival.
