Quay Walker comes off of Packers' PUP list
Linebacker Quay Walker's stay on the Packers' physically unable to perform list turned out to be shorter than expected. General Manager Brian Gutekunst said on Wednesday morning that he thought Walker was about a week away from practicing as he continues to recover from an offseason ankle cleanup surgery, but he's set to be on the field sooner than that. The NFL's Wednesday transaction report shows that Walker passed his physical. Walker is in the final year of his rookie deal after the Packers opted not to exercise their option on his contract for the 2025 season. There have been talks about a contract extension, however, and good health should help Walker's bid for a new deal. Defensive back Micah Robinson also passed his physical on Wednesday.

Green Bay Packers 2025 seventh-round pick: CB Micah Robinson
The Green Bay Packers selected Tulane cornerback Micah Robinson in the seventh round (No. 237 overall) of the 2025 NFL draft. Profile Height: 5-10 Weight: 183 Age: 23 From: Atlanta, GA College profile Breakdown: Spent four seasons at Furman before transferring to Tulane. Was the top graded defensive player for Tulane's terrific 2024 defense. Allowed a passer rating of only 52.4 into his coverage, with two picks, four pass breakups and a forced fumble. All-AAC pick in 2024. Smaller than the Packers like at 5-10 and 183 pounds but the team likes his movement ability for the position. Ran the 40-yard dash in 4.38-4.42 seconds. Played mostly on the perimeter across five collegiate seasons. Finished career with seven interceptions and 11 touchdown passes allowed. Not a perfect tackler, but a willing force defender who is unafraid of the physical side despite his size. Pre-draft visitor to Green Bay. Scouting reports Lance Zierlein, "Fifth-year senior who spent one season at Tulane after transferring from Furman. He has NFL-caliber top-end speed but lacks the short-area shiftiness to match slot targets, which might be something he's asked to do because he lacks ideal size. He was greatly improved in 2024 and is a tough run supporter when plays flow his way." Advertisement They said it: "He's got great feet, he can play off-man coverage, which is one of the harder things to do. He took up a step from Furman to Tulane, and really played really, really well in his first season there. So I think as he gets more reps against really better competition, I think he's going to continue to improve. He doesn't have elite size, but I thought his speed and his ability as an athlete to stay with guys, particularly from playing off coverage which is so hard, and he's got great ball skills.' -- GM Brian Gutekunst New uniform: No. 26 Robinson wore No. 6 at Tulane, but Mecole Hardman currently has the number. He wore No. 14 at Furman, but that number is retired. He'll be No. 26 as a rookie. LSUS debaters experience luck o' the Irish during European tour
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Three LSUS debaters recently returned from the 28th annual Montgomery Cup in Europe. During the 14-day debate and cultural exchange tour, the students visited Ireland, Wales and England. LSUS students Micah Robinson, Addison Jacobsen and Emily Dowd competed alongside the University of Central Missouri, the organizers of the tour. The teams debated at the University of Cork, Trinity University, University College of Dublin and Cardiff University on the tour. 'The (Montgomery Cup) debate style is different than what we normally do, but these kids enjoyed getting to compete and the anxiety with learning a new style,' said LSUS debate coach A.J. Edwards, who has participated in three Montgomery Cups as a coach. 'But by the end, we were commenting how quickly they took to it.' Robinson and Jacobsen logged a tournament win and a second place in four debates. Dowd also debated her way to win in a different event that didn't have a tournament structure. 'Debate over there is an extracurricular activity, but it's taught throughout their schools from the time they are young,' Edwards continued. 'Some of our kids have only been debating for two years, so to step in and hold your own against kids who have been doing it their whole lives, that's pretty remarkable and tells you the talent we have.' Shreveport firefighters learn life-saving extrication skills The students visited cultural sites in Cork, Dublin, Cardiff and London, including Blarney Castle, repository of the Book of Kell (ancient text that first proclaimed the Gospel to the Irish more than 2,000 years ago), the Tower of London, and Westminster Abbey. They also took in a little theatre in London. 'The craziest thing was that the highlight of the entire trip might be driving through the countryside in Wales,' Edwards said. 'The interstate was shut down, and we took the charter bus the back way to Cardiff, which took 6.5 hours instead of three. But the kids were in awe of how pretty the scenery was, and they talked about it for two days after.' Debate team members said they couldn't have made the trip without support from the LSUS administration, the LSUS Foundation and the Noel Foundation, which provide financial support as well as logistical support for classes missed during the trip.
