Tents at Kendal Calling threaten to lift off and flood alerts issued as Storm Floris hits
Footage from a festival-goer captured tents at Kendal Calling blowing over in strong winds as Storm Floris hit
Tents at Kendal Calling blew over and threatened to lift off amid high winds caused by Storm Floris as festival-goers started their journey home.
Footage from the Lowther Deer Park Site, south of Penrith, captured the tents flipping and struggling to stay pegged to the ground on Monday (4 August) due to strong winds.
It comes as weather warnings are in place across Cumbria and the South of Scotland as a result of the storm, which continues to hit the UK.
Storm Floris has already caused disruption on the roads and to public transport - with trains cancelled - while flood alerts have been issued in the Lake District.
Much of the north of Scottish Borders are subject to an amber weather warning, issued by the Met Office, with unseasonably strong and disruptive winds forecast.
A yellow warning for wind is in place across Cumbria and the Scottish Borders.
'It's not worth your life'
Michael Avril, the RNLI regional safety lead for Scotland, told ITV Border people should stay away from the coast if they can.
He said: "What we're asking people is to follow the advice that they're getting from the emergency services which is not to travel.
"[There's] loads of danger on the roads and if they are anywhere near the sea and they see somebody in trouble then it's [call] 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
"All of our cliffs are well exposed and unfortunately have big drops right next to them so please keep away from the cliffs," he added. "Don't go to to the seaside to take pictures. It's not worth your life."

People are advised to avoid using low-lying roads, footpaths and any bridges near waterways and are urged to stay out of flood water weather on foot or behind the wheel.
