Ileana D'Cruz reveals she was offered Ajay Devgn's Raid 2 but turned it down due to ‘different priorities': ‘Couldn't work out the schedule given, just had my baby'

Ileana D'Cruz has been away from films for some time and is currently expecting her second child with husband Michael Dolan. During a recent Instagram AMA session, the actor, who played the female lead in Ajay Devgn's Raid, revealed that she was offered a role in Raid 2 as well. However, she turned it down, citing a shift in priorities and a shooting schedule that didn't align with her availability. The actor, who played the role of Malini Pathak in the 2018 film Raid, was replaced by Vaani Kapoor in the sequel. During the AMA session, a fan asked about her absence from Raid 2 and plans to make a comeback in films. Ileana replied, 'I miss working in movies too and I would have loved to be a part of Raid 2. Raid was a special film but Malini was such a special character to play and working with my director Raj Kumar Gupta was a wonderful experience as was working with Ajay again.' She added, 'The makers of Raid 2 did offer the movie to me but unfortunately we couldn't work out the schedule given that I had just had my baby and my priorities are very different at the moment. That said I think Vaani looked lovely in all the promos I've seen and I'm sure she brought her own lovely charm to her character. Hope that clears any confusion.' Wasn't like anything I expected. All-consuming and 24/7. No off days. But my god, the feeling I get when I see my little one smile, or hold me, or just thrive and be a happy, healthy boy — makes me feel like I'm superwoman.'
