Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash which closed road for hours
A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash in the Scottish Borders. The incident, involving a white and blue Suzuki GSXR motorcycle, occurred on the B6399 just south of the access road to Pines Burn windfarm in Hawick on Sunday afternoon. The 57-year-old male rider was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The road was closed for around eight hours while investigations were carried out and reopened around 8pm. Sergeant Michael Shillington said: 'Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to please contact us. 'In addition, anyone who may have been driving in the area around this time and has relevant dash-cam footage is asked to get in touch.' Police name motorcyclist killed following crash in Scottish Borders
The motorcyclist who died following a collision between Lauder and Galashiels on Saturday, 26 April, 2025, has been named as Stuart Brandon Donald from Tranent. The 26-year-old was involved in a crash with a Nissan X-Trail being driven on an unclassified road, known locally as Langshaw Road, around 3.45pm. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was not injured. The road was closed to allow for investigations to be carried out and reopened around 9.40pm. Road Policing Sergeant Michael Shillington said: 'Our thoughts are with Stuart's family and friends at this very difficult time. We continue to keep them updated while our enquiries continue. 'I'd like to thank everyone who has come forward with information so far and would urge anyone who witnessed the crash, or has dash-cam footage of the area at the time, and has not already spoken to us, to contact police.' Police name biker killed in Borders crash with car
A 26-year-old biker who died in a crash in the Scottish Borders on Saturday has been named by were called to an incident between a motorbike and a Nissan X-Trail on an unclassified road between Lauder and Galashiels, known locally as the Langshaw Road, at about 15: Brandon Donald, from Tranent, East Lothian, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was not injured and the road was shut for about six hours for investigations. Sgt Michael Shillington said: "Our thoughts are with Stuart's family and friends at this very difficult time."He added that inquiries were continuing into the crash and thanked everyone who had come forward with information so have appealed for any other witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them.
