Game of Thrones armour was too dangerous to use in battle scenes
The costume designer for Game of Thrones has revealed that the White Walkers' armour was too dangerous for use in action scenes.
Michele Clapton told The Guardian that the metal armour was also incredibly labour-intensive and hazardous to make.
'The armourists just loathed it because they really cut themselves. It's almost like a huge cheese grater,' she told the publication.
Because of the risk of injuries to the actors, a safer leather substitute had to be created for the White Walkers' action sequences.
Actors portraying the White Walkers also had to wear hot water bottles beneath their costumes to keep warm.
