Missing long-lost cat reunited with stunned owners
A long-lost family cat has been reunited with its loving owners after he went missing for six months. Micky — a ginger cat — went missing and was presumed stolen for six months before he appeared in a good Samaritan's garden. When the beloved cat found his way to into RSPCA care, he had a cough and gunk around his eyes, but it was clear Mikey was someone's beloved pet. Micky has been reunited with it's loving owners after he went missing for six months. Credit: Supplied 'When RSPCA WA called about Micky, I was stunned,' she said. Tracy and her family had searched for the wandering cat for months before they resigned themselves to the fact he may have been stolen. 'He'd been gone for over six months and I'd given up hope. I was so relieved to hear he was safe,' she said. 'Micky's back home, snuggling and purring away. Seeing his sweet face every day is amazing; it's like he never left. 'Thank you to whoever found him and the RSPCA staff who nursed him back to health and reunited us.' RSPCA WA shelter manager Emily Farrell said this story shows how important it is to get pets micro-chipped. 'Without his microchip Micky would have been cleared for adoption and could have ended up in someone else's home,' she said. 'The reunion was beautiful, and we are overjoyed to see Micky happy and safe at home.'
