R150 000 drugs found in Tasbet Park in eMalahleni – Nigerian foreigner in court this morning An operation between Witbank SAPS and the Middelburg K9 Dog Unit led to the arrest of a 33-year-old Nigerian national for alleged drug dealing on Tuesday late afternoon. According to the police, they were conducting routine crime prevention duties when they received a tip-off regarding alleged drug-related activity at a residence in Sopraan Street in Tasbet Park. Once on the scene, an unidentified man attempted to resist arrest and flee the scene. But the long arm of the law quickly caught up with him. During the search, a silver scale believed to be used for measuring narcotics was found. Three transparent plastic packets containing a powdery substance believed to be cocaine, and one packet with white solid pieces suspected to be cocaine, were also found. According to police estimates, the seized drugs have a value of approximately R150 000. The suspect was taken into custody and is expected to appear before the Witbank Magistrate's Court this morning, facing charges of dealing in illegal substances. Witbank SAPS Station Commander, Brigadier Moses Bolton, praised the effectiveness of the joint operation and emphasised their continued commitment to combating drug-related crimes in the region.
