Lebanon Under Israeli Fire Anew: Most Violent Strikes on Dahiyeh Since 2024 Ceasefire

The Israeli enemy launched on Thursday a wave of strikes targeting residential buildings in Beirut's southern suburb, Dahiyeh, on the eve of Eid Al-Adha. More than 20 strikes, including preliminary raids, targeted at least four locations across the Dahiyeh, in the most violent strikes since the ceasefire between Lebanon and the Zionist entity took effect on November 27, 2024 following a 66-day brutal Israeli war. The strikes were preceded by four evacuation orders issues by the Israeli occupation army. ⚡️⭕️ The number of airstrikes on the Beirut southern suburb has risen to 7 — Middle East Observer (@ME_Observer_) June 5, 2025 Trough out three hours, residential buildings in Al-Qaem area, American Neighborhood, Rweis and Kafaat across the Dahiyeh, our correspondent said. The first aggression took place in late March, targeting the area of Jamous, while the other attacks were carried out by the Israeli occupation in April, targeting Hay Madi and Jamous areas. Lebanese Officials Denounce Flagrant Attack Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, PM Nawaf Salam and Speaker Nabih Berri strongly condemned as flagrant the Israeli aggression, urging the international community to act to stop the attacks. In a statement, the Lebanese Presidency voiced 'firm condemnation of the Israeli aggression' and called the strikes a 'blatant violation of an international agreement, as well as the basic principles of international and humanitarian laws and resolutions, on the eve of a sacred religious occasion,' referring to Eid Al-Adha. — Lebanese Presidency (@LBpresidency) June 5, 2025 President Aoun said the attacks prove the Israeli 'rejection of the requirements of stability, settlement and just peace in our region.' The Lebanese president accused the Israeli occupation of using Lebanon as a 'mailbox' to send a message to the United States. For his part, PM Salam also issued a statement condemning the strikes calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities to deter 'Israel' from continuing its attacks and oblige it to fully withdraw from the points it still occupies in south Lebanon. Commenting on the Israeli aggression, Speaker Nabih Berri said that his stance matches with that of President Aoun 'in all its national aspects.' 'Israeli hostility does not target a sect or a region, but rather all of Lebanon, the Lebanese, and the Arabs,' Speaker Berri stated, in remarks carried by Al-Manar.

In the wake of the unprecedented Sunday direct hit on Israel's Ben Gurion international airport by a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis of Yemen, Israeli leadership has vowed to hit back hard. 'The attack on Ben Gurion Airport has removed all restrictions from our perspective,' Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has stated. He emphasized, 'Whoever harms us will be harmed sevenfold' – amid an emergency meeting of Israel's security cabinet. Al Jazeera and regional media say that response has come on Monday. There are reports that 30 Israeli jets are bombing Yemen's main port, along with US military assistance: Al Jazeera's Ali Hashem has reported that Houthi-affiliated media has said a total of nine sites have been hit in Hodeidah. Israeli media has reported both at least 30 Israeli fighter jets were involved in strikes on Yemen, which come a day after the Houthis attacked the Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, with a missile landing near the facility. Yemen: 4 martyrs, 16 injuries in US aggression on Sanaa

Four civilians were killed and 16 others, including women and children, were injured in a US airstrike that targeted a house in the Shaab al-Hafa area of Sanaa, Yemen's capital, the Health Ministry reported on Sunday. The ministry's spokesperson, Anis al-Asbahi, strongly condemned the 'blatant US aggression' and its targeting of civilians, calling it 'a full-fledged war crime that violates all international norms and laws.' He described the incident as 'another entry in the criminal record of the United States, adding to its dark history of crimes against Yemen, its land and people.' Israel is teaching Americans how to live and behave on the international arena — Middle East Observer (@ME_Observer_) April 6, 2025 The US carried out two airstrikes on the Shaab al-Hafa area. Additionally, US warplanes targeted Kamaran Island, west of the Hodeidah province, with four airstrikes. This latest attack comes just days after al-Asbahi announced that at least 92 civilians have been martyred and 165 others wounded in US airstrikes on Yemen since mid-March. Separately, on Friday, President Trump shared a video on his social media accounts, claiming it depicted the killing of numerous fighters in an American strike on Yemen, with the caption 'oops.' However, a special source for the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) refuted the claims, stating that the gathering was actually a social event held for Eid al-fitr celebrations in Hodeidah governorate, and had no connection to military operations.

Israeli Airstrikes Hit Military Bases in Central Syria

In a series of attacks, the Israeli occupation military has targeted multiple military sites in central Syria, according to reports. On Tuesday, Israeli airstrikes hit the Palmyra Airport and the T4 military base in the eastern countryside of Homs province. The Israeli army confirmed it had bombed Syrian military targets in the area. This marks the second such attack on these two bases in recent days. Syria has not yet issued an official statement on the latest raids. 🚨 Syria : Israeli jets once again bombed the Palmyra military airport in Syria, amidst a sudden and nationwide internet outage. — Middle East Observer (@ME_Observer_) March 25, 2025 In a separate incident on Monday, the Israeli Air Force launched an attack on a military site east of Al-Sanamayn in the countryside of Daraa Governorate in southern Syria. Since the fall of the former Syrian regime in late 2024, Israeli military operations against targets inside Syria have escalated. The Israeli occupation forces have increasingly encroached into Syrian territory, expanding beyond the established 'buffer zone.' The occupation has also established new military posts in strategic locations, such as the slopes of Mount Hermon, placing its forces in a position to monitor and target Syrian government forces across the Daraa, Quneitra, and Damascus countryside regions.
