Two arrested after 'violent incident' at bar that saw three seriously injured

Two people have been arrested following a 'violent incident' at a Redcar bar. Police and ambulance crews were called to Peggy Junes Bar, on Queen Street, on Saturday (February 15) following a 'violent altercation' just after 8pm. Three people were taken to hospital with serious injuries - although these are not believed to be life-threatening - while three suspects reportedly fled the scene. Cleveland Police has now confirmed that a 33-year-old man and 36-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the incident. Enquiries remain ongoing to locate and arrest two other men believed to be involved. A cordon was erected outside Peggy Junes at the time of the ordeal on Saturday evening, with officers seen standing guard outside beside the blue and white police tape. Other pictures from the scene also showed a flurry of 999 crews with flashing blue lights and the smashed front windows of the bar. Anyone who was in Peggy Junes around the time of the incident and has not yet come forward to speak to police, is urged to get in touch with Cleveland Police.
