Style Edit: Chanel's new ready-to-wear collection, shot in Paris

Back in March, guests entering Paris' iconic Grand Palais for the Chanel autumn/winter 2025 collection were met with a set shaped around a black ribbon – both a sign of things to come and an homage to one of the house's many enduring codes. This stylish motif was celebrated and re-envisaged throughout the runway alongside other recognisable signatures, from classic pearls to iconic tweed. Now, a few months on, the luxury maison's newly unveiled autumn/winter ready-to-wear campaign pays homage to the rich DNA showcased in the collection, with a stunning set of images by acclaimed Swedish fashion photographer Mikael Jansson. Tweed takes on various forms, from shimmering versions on a matching dress and jacket, to an edgy deconstructed black tweed cape, and a rock chick-inspired ensemble featuring a golden three-piece skirt suit with a contrasting braid, layered over trousers. Photo: Handout Accessories shine with recognisable details that still feel modern and fresh. For example, Coco Chanel's favourite jewellery – a string of pearls – takes on new dimensions. Supersized strands are layered around the neck or transformed into a wearable objet d'art – a stylish cross-body bag. Sautoir necklaces made from strass or beads cascade across the torso to add movement and sparkle. Bold accessories underscore the assured feel. Photo: Handout Ankle boots are adorned with velvet bows or feature a surprising detail – a gobstopper-sized pearl-shaped heel, finished with the double C logo. Gloves in leather or tweed add a cultured vibe. Versatile bags, mini or maxi, are worn over the shoulder or held in the hand in styles running from the everyday to a glamorous, elongated, metallic gold purse. Like the clothes she wears, Tougaard embodies a multifaceted femininity that is quintessentially Chanel: ranging from rock chic to romantic, but always powerful.
