Dog lovers gather in Martletwy to support Wales Air Ambulance
A POPULAR Pembrokeshire dog show is returning this month and will raise vital funds for the Wales Air Ambulance. The Bluestone Charity Terrier, Lurcher, Whippet, and Family Dog Show will take place over the weekend of Friday, May 31 to Saturday, June 1 at The Snooty Fox, Martletwy. The event has drawn strong crowds in previous years and is once again expected to be a lively, family-friendly affair. Organised by Rebecca Woods and her dedicated team of volunteers, the event features a packed schedule of dog classes, stalls, food and drink, a licensed bar, a raffle, and plenty of entertainment for all ages. There's even a large children's play area to keep the youngest visitors entertained. This year's show includes major qualifiers and a wide range of prizes – with £100 for each overall show champion and £50 awards in the family, KC, and Pick and Mix classes. Rebecca Woods, who founded the event, said: 'This is our fourth year running the show and it's always a really enjoyable weekend – not just for the dogs, but for the whole family. This year is especially meaningful to me as I lost my mum at the start of the year. We've been lucky with the weather every time so far, so fingers crossed for sunshine again.' In previous years, the show has raised over £1,200 for the Chemotherapy Day Unit at Glangwili Hospital. This year's chosen beneficiary, Wales Air Ambulance, was selected by public vote via the event's Facebook page. The charity provides emergency medical care across Wales, taking hospital-level treatment directly to patients in need. Crews are able to administer anaesthesia, deliver blood transfusions, and perform minor procedures at the scene. As a pan-Wales service, its aircraft and rapid response vehicles serve both rural and urban areas – and rely entirely on public donations to meet their annual £11.2 million funding requirement. Mike May, regional fundraising manager for West Wales, said: 'A huge thank you to the organisers for choosing Wales Air Ambulance to benefit from this year's event. The Bluestone Dog Show is always a fantastic occasion, and fundraisers like this help us continue delivering lifesaving care wherever it's needed. Every pound raised really does make a difference.'

St Davids lifeboat tows stricken trawler to safety
THE GLEN BAR and Restaurant in Haverfordwest has continued its amazing fundraising for the Wales Air Ambulance by raising over £1,200. As the chosen charity for Glen Bar and Restaurant in total they have now raised £5,000 for the lifesaving cause. The venue held a hugely popular evening with Welsh International prop Rob Evans and British and Irish Lions hooker Ken Owens. The Wales Air Ambulance Charity relies on public donations to raise the £11.2 million required every year to keep its helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road. Around 55 people attended the successful evening, which saw a charity auction held for a grand slam rugby jersey. Landlord Tom Slater, who is a current player for Narberth RFC, said: 'It was a really good evening and everyone enjoyed. The players talked about their careers, and we held an auction. I'd like to thank everyone for supporting our Wales Air Ambulance fundraising events. 'I just do my best to help out and raise funds for the Charity. I live on a farm and we're very rural and you never know if you, or someone you know, will need the Wales Air Ambulance's help. 'It's an essential service and I know people whose lives have been saved by the Wales Air Ambulance.' The Wales Air Ambulance is consultant-led, taking hospital-standard treatments to the patient and if required, transferring them directly to the most appropriate hospital for their illness or injury. It is delivered via a unique third sector and public sector partnership. The Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS) supplies highly skilled NHS consultants and critical care practitioners who work on board the Charity's vehicles. This advanced critical care includes the ability to administer anaesthesia, deliver blood transfusions and conduct minor operations, all at the scene of an incident. As a pan-Wales service, its dedicated crews, regardless of where they are based, will travel the length and breadth of the country to deliver emergency lifesaving care. The Glen Bar and Restaurant also held an Easter hamper raffle which raised £200 for the Charity. Mike May, West Wales Regional Fundraising Manager for Wales Air Ambulance, said: 'We are always touched when people or businesses continue to raise funds for our Charity. The Glen has supported the Wales Air Ambulance for many years, this year they raised an incredible £1,234 which will help us to meet our yearly fundraising target of £11.2 million. In total they've raised £5,000 which is amazing. 'We really appreciate the effort those at The Glen put into making their fundraising a huge success. I was delighted to meet Tom and hear about their support of our Charity. Thank you so much everyone. Fundraisers, like these ones, will help us continue to be there for the people of Wales 24/7.' Payroll Integrations and UKG Partner to Automate Payroll and Benefits Administration
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Payroll Integrations, the technology company that's reimagining how employers support employees' financial well-being through retirement and benefit automation, today introduced a new technology partnership with UKG, a leading global provider of HR, payroll, workforce management and culture solutions. With more than 350 technology and services partners, UKG provides one of the largest and most collaborative partner ecosystems in the human capital management (HCM) industry, focused on creating better employee experiences and improving business outcomes. HR managers spend 12 hours on average, or more than one-fourth of their work week, on payroll and benefit-related administrative tasks. This is because many companies are still reliant on tedious and time-consuming manual processes to track payroll and employee census changes, manage employee deductions, run benefit contributions and more. Completing these tasks manually also introduces opportunities for error, resulting in data inaccuracies that can cost companies time and money. Companies that use UKG Pro® or UKG Ready® can now automate these laborious administrative tasks using Payroll Integrations. With pre-built integrations into the largest and most widely used benefit providers in the U.S., including 75+ 401k providers, Payroll Integrations' technology securely transfers data from payroll systems and benefit plan providers to eliminate manual entries and ensure data accuracy. This also frees up employers to focus more on growing their benefit offerings and enhancing employees' financial well-being. 'Companies want to support employees' financial wellness, but it can be hard to find time to connect and engage with employees when HR teams are bogged down with hours of payroll and benefits-related administrative tasks,' said Doug Sabella, CEO of Payroll Integrations. 'We're looking forward to working with UKG to expand our work to automate HR hassles so companies can prioritize their employees.' UKG solutions are built on the FleX platform, a modern technology framework designed to support exceptional workplaces. FleX Flow, a highly adaptable API framework, anchors UKG solutions in the flow of work, connecting existing IT systems with innovative applications to enhance workplace productivity and employee satisfaction. 'Our partnership ecosystem helps us support our customers with seamless solutions that improve business outcomes and inspire people,' said Mike May, vice president of technology partnerships at UKG. 'Partners like Payroll Integrations allow us to extend our capabilities and deliver technology that elevates the workplace experience, and meet the needs of people throughout their life-work journey.'
