Cleveland Municipal Court to reopen after ‘cyber incident'
**A previous report on the courthouse in the video above CLEVELAND (WJW) — After shutting down Feb. 23, the Cleveland Municipal Court is reopening to the public following a 'cyber incident.' Court spokesperson Ed Ferenc said in a Monday email to FOX 8 News that the court plans to open its doors Wednesday, however, an investigation is still ongoing. General Division cases scheduled for Wednesday are going to be heard, the spokesperson said. Sheriff: Woman in US illegally had fake ID with dead person's Social Security number In a statement last month, Deputy Court Administrator Mike Negray said that while the situation was being assessed, the systems that were affected were shut down as a precautionary measure. Those included internal systems and computer software platforms. That also meant that all criminal and civil case hearings were paused (the jail docket was not suspended, however). Those that were scheduled between Feb. 24 and March 11 are now getting new dates within the next 30 days, and those affected can expect a notice in the mail. The court was still not clear what led to the incident. 'We take cyber threats extremely seriously and are working expeditiously to rectify the situation as soon as possible,' Negray said last month. The court will be closed on Monday. It has been closed since last Monday, when court officials said they were investigating.
