Hawaii Softball splits doubleheader, 2nd Walk-Off win in 3 days
The Hawaii Softball team closed out the Spring Fling Tournament on Saturday with a doubleheader.
Hawaii fell to Cal State Bakersfield 7-2 in the 1st game, after UH racked up 7 hits but were unable to find the runs.
In game number 2, Hawaii took on Utah Tech. Hawaii trailed 6-4 heading into the 6th inning, but UH was able to tie it up after 2 runs in the 6th.
This one needed extra innings as both teams go scoreless in the 7th.
After the Rainbow Wahine held Utah Tech scoreless in the 7th. In the bottom of the frame, Sophomore Shortstop Milan Ah Yat stepped up to the plate.
Ah Yat got a hold of one and sent it over the left field wall for the 2 run homerun and for the walk-off Hawaii win.
'This team has fought so hard all weekend with all of these walk offs and everything,' said Ah Yat.
Hawaii wins 8-6 in game 2 and splits the final day of the Spring Fling Tournament.
'It's my last season and to see this happen, we we haven't been this good in a long time. And this is exciting. Very exciting,' said Hawaii Head Coach Bob Coolen.
