'I am going to kill you': Mass. man faces charges in connection with woman strangled in hallway
A Duxbury man faces charges after police stopped him from strangling a woman to death in an apartment complex, Duxbury police said Friday.
Brandon Wangnoon, 31, faces one count each of assault to murder, strangulation and suffocation, and breaking and entering a building at nighttime.
At around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, officers were notified about a report of a man strangling a woman at an apartment hallway in the area of Mile Brook Road, Duxbury police said in a statement.
When officers arrived, they at first did not see anyone in the hallway, police said. They spoke with a resident who confirmed Wangnoon was in the hallway with the woman and led officers to the woman's apartment.
The woman told officers that Wangnoon was 'removed from his girlfriend's apartment,' and he entered a different apartment, police said. People living in that apartment saw Wangnoon and told him to leave, but he did not.
Wangnoon became argumentative and grabbed one of the women in the apartment by the neck, took her out in the hallway and told her, 'I am going to kill you,' according to police.
Other people intervened and separated the two, the statement read. Officers then searched the area, found Wangnoon and arrested him.
