BPCC honored as top military-friendly school for 15th straight year
BOSSIER PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS)—For the 15th consecutive year, Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) has been nationally recognized as a top-ten Military Friendly School and a top-ten Military Friendly Spouse School. BPCC's Bossier campus placed eighth in the small community college division for being military-friendly and fourth for being military spouse-friendly. The Natchitoches and Sabine Valley campuses also received Military Friendly Gold designations, awarding their dedication to serving military members. Register for summer and fall classes, financial aid at BPCC BPCC's Veteran Resource Center (VRC) was established in 2018 in collaboration with Louisiana Tech University to give military and veteran students a central hub for gaining crucial military support services at the state and federal levels. 'The center is an inviting space for them to stay plugged into all things military on campus by way of benefits, resources, and camaraderie.' Institutions given the Military Friendly® School designation were assessed using public data sources and responses from a school-completed survey. 'The Military Friendly rankings list is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide, input from student veterans, and responses to the proprietary, data-driven survey from participating institutions,' a press release stated. 'The survey questions, methodology, criteria, and weighting were developed with the assistance of an independent research firm and an advisory council of educators and employers.' TSTC earns 2025-26 Military Friendly School designation
Apr. 29—WACO — Texas State Technical College has earned the 2025-26 Military Friendly School designation. TSTC earned the silver designation among the large community colleges. Mike Reeser, chancellor and CEO of TSTC, said he is proud of the college's commitment to helping military veterans and its Military Friendly designation. "Our U.S. veterans of the armed forces often risk it all through their service," Reeser said in a news release. "So our TSTC team is proud that this designation acknowledges that the college is doing its part to express the gratitude we all owe to these extraordinary Americans." Institutions earning the designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2025-26 survey, with 830 earning special awards for going above the standard. The 2025-26 list will be published in the May and October issues of "G.I. Jobs" magazine and found at Methodology, criteria and weightings were determined by VIQTORY with input from the Military Friendly Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Founded in 2001, VIQTORY is a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business that connects the military community to civilian employment, educational and entrepreneurial opportunities. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution's survey scores with the assessment of the institution's ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans. "Military Friendly is committed to transparency and providing consistent data-driven standards in our designation process," Kayla Lopez, vice president of Military Friendly, said in the release. "Our standards provide a benchmark that promotes positive outcomes and support services that better the educational landscape and provide opportunity for the military community. This creates a competitive atmosphere that encourages institutions to evolve and invest in their programs consistently. ASU named ‘Military Friendly School', wins Gold Award
SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Angelo State University announced on April 15 that Victory Media had designated the university a 'Military Friendly School' for the 16th time. While maintaining this title, ASU also received a Gold Award for ranking among the top of over 80 U.S. institutions that were awarded the 'Military Friendly School' in the Large Public University category for 2025-2026. According to a press release from ASU, the university is one of five Texas institutions to win the Gold Award for this category for 2025-2026. 'Earning Military Friendly Gold status is one of the distinctions we are most proud of because it makes a tangible impact on our student body,' said ASU President Ronnie Hawkins Jr. 'We now have over 2,100 military-affiliated students enrolled at ASU, an increase of more than 750 students in the last year alone. ASU Percussion Ensemble set for spring concert performance The director of affiliated military and veteran services shared that the team strives to make sure military-affiliated students meet or exceed their goals while studying at ASU. Tyler Junior College receives military friendly school award

The process of achieving this recognition begins with schools making a pledge to improve their services for military students, aiming to earn higher levels of recognition over time. 'It's a privilege to connect with our military students and their families, to help them build the future they deserve,' interim executive director of TJC's academic advising, veterans/military and testing services Keren Longshore said. 'Knowing the sacrifices they have made fills us with immense respect and a heartfelt desire to serve them in return.
