Marshall County death investigation ongoing, person of interest in custody
MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — The Marshall County Sheriff's Office said a person of interest is in custody after a man was found dead Tuesday morning. Coroner Cody Nugent said his office and the Marshall County Sheriff's Office launched a death investigation after a man was found shot on Brothers Road on July 8. The sheriff's office told News 19 that one person of interest is in custody on other charges. Albertville man arrested in shooting near Asbury
MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — The Marshall County Sheriff's Office says an Albertville man has been arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of a man near Asbury Monday. MCSO said Rafael Comacho Jr., 28, of Albertville, was arrested and charged with murder in the death of Millard Jerry Anderson. Darius Miles set to be tried in December, plea deal on the table On July 7, Anderson was found dead at his residence on Brothers Road with a gunshot wound to the head, according to the sheriff's office. MCSO said investigators quickly determined Comacho was a potential suspect and he was taken into custody on a certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm charge. The sheriff's office said Comacho remains in custody without bond due to a probation violation. Sheriff Phil Sims said investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident. 'We believe this is an isolated incident over a dispute,' the sheriff said. 'The offender was taken into custody in a short amount of time on gun-related charges and is not a threat to the community.
