Why did the Colts delete their Minecraft schedule release video?

Shortly after it was uploaded, the Indianapolis Colts' 2025 NFL schedule release video was removed from the internet. The video was a Minecraft-themed parody, with jokes aimed at everyone from Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins to new Jacksonville Jaguars coach Liam Coen. You can see the full Colts release video and the Dolphins joke in particular below to decide if this is why the original video was removed. It's definitely curious. The Chargers and Colts both made Minecraft-themed 2025 NFL schedule release videos

Editor's note: The Colts have since removed their video. The 2025 NFL schedule release featured two teams accidentally picking the same topic, although an incredibly popular one to be fair. The Los Angeles Chargers, longtime NFL schedule release video stalwarts, and the Indianapolis Colts both created Minecraft-themed videos. Advertisement Which one was better? Well, you'll have to ask Steve that. We're sure even the chicken jockey will appreciate what these Minecraft videos did, even if it's a bit funny that two different NFL teams picked this unique format. It's like showing up to a party wearing the same outfit as someone else, even if it's a pretty snazzy outfit. Steve's Lava Chicken at NFL stadiums across the nation for all! Bears CB Tyrique Stevenson catches a stray in Chargers' schedule release video

Bears CB Tyrique Stevenson catches a stray in Chargers' schedule release video Throwing Tyrique Stevenson in there was not necessary @chargers 😭😭 — SleeperBears (@SleeperBears) May 15, 2025 The NFL marketing teams had their annual Super Bowl on Wednesday with the NFL's schedule release, which featured some great content as teams rolled out their 2025 slate. The Los Angeles Chargers social team is known for its legendary work every year during the schedule release, and they didn't disappoint with a Minecraft-themed video littered with easter eggs. One of those nods featured the Chicago Bears, who aren't even on their schedule in 2025, where cornerback Tyrique Stevenson caught a stray. The short clip, spotted at the end with the Chargers' full schedule, featured what appears to be Stevenson (donning No. 29) taunting the crowd at the Washington Commanders' Northwest Stadium. It's a nod to Stevenson's antics on the final Hail Mary play, where he was talking to the crowd right before the play and then tipped the ball to Commanders wide receiver Noah Brown for the game-winning touchdown. Stevenson took accountability for his actions and role in that gut-wrenching loss, which kickstarted a 10-game losing streak, and that included apologizing to his teammates. Stevenson was benched for the first half of Chicago's next game as punishment, and he didn't seem to be the same player he was earlier in the season. Stevenson has yet to live that moment down, and he has plenty to prove in a talented cornerback group. But Stevenson has a fresh start with new head coach Ben Johnson and his coaching staff, where getting coached by Dennis Allen and Al Harris should go a long way for him. The Colts apologized to Tyreek Hill (and… Microsoft?) for their deleted schedule video

The Colts apologized to Tyreek Hill (and… Microsoft?) for their deleted schedule video Something strange happened during the NFL's annual schedule release event. The Indianapolis Colts released Minecraft-themed video to unveil their 17-game slate. It was fairly well received... then, it was gone. This led to speculation. After all, the video cracked jokes at the expense of Kirk Cousins, the feud between Ian Rapoport and Jordan Schultz, Patrick Mahomes and Jacksonville Jaguars coach Liam Coen. But one brief clip at the start, which sees an annoyed dolphin version of Miami wide receiver Tyreek Hill get pulled over by the Coast Guard, seemed like the most obvious lightning rod for soft controversy in a league that's got nearly four months of time to burn before the actual season starts. On Thursday, the Colts came out and said, yep, the Hill arrest was part of the reason the video came down -- along with the desire to avoid Microsoft's legal team. "We removed our schedule release video because it exceeded our rights with Microsoft and included an insensitive clip involving Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill. We sincerely apologize to Microsoft and Tyreek," read the statement first reported by Pro Football Talk. While I don't have the data handy, I believe this is the first time an NFL franchise has had to apologize to a software company for releasing its schedule. So how bad were the offending clips? You can see for yourself. Well, huh.
