Motorists gain relief as petrol price is reduced
Minister of Mineral & Petroleum Resources Gwede Mantashe announced the new fuel price adjustments will come into effect at midnight on August 6.
Petrol prices will decreases, giving motorists a slight sigh of relief. However, the prices of diesel and paraffin will be increasing.
The price adjustments are as follows:
Petrol 93 (ULP & LRP): 28 cents per litre decrease;
Petrol 95 (ULP &LRP): 28 cents per litre decrease;
Diesel (0.05% sulphur): 65 cents per litre increase;
Diesel (0.005% sulphur): 63 cents per litre increase;
Illuminating paraffin (wholesale): 32 cents per litre increase;
SMNRP for IP: 43 cents per litre increase;
Maximum retail price of LP Gas: 69 cents per kilogram decrease and 78 cents per kilogram decrease in the Western Cape.
