Mohali football academy's U-14 team shines in 3 world tourneys
Chandigarh: Mohali's Minerva Academy's under-14 football team has won three of the world's youth tournaments, the Gothia Cup (Sweden), Dana Cup (Denmark) and Norway Cup (Norway), all in the same year. The team also reached the final of the Helsinki Cup (Finland). Over a three-week European tour, the squad remained unbeaten in 26 matches across their three title wins. They recorded the highest average goal count per game among all teams (16.25). Forwards Wahengbam Raj Singh (60 goals), Punshiba Meitei (33), Denamoni (26), Amarson and Azam Khan (24 each) led the scoring charts. Minerva Academy FC in Norway Cup quarter-finals
Minerva Academy Football Club had made it to the quarter-finals of the Norway Cup in Oslo. In the group round, Minerva Academy defeated Aksla IL 25-0, Forde IL 3 15-0 and then Kromelvdalen IL 22-0 to capture the top spot of the group. The team scored 90 goals in five matches and not even one goal was scored against them. In the knockout rounds, they knocked out Norway's Rossland Ball Club 11-0 in round of 32. Punshiba scored a hat trick. Amrsan and Raj also scored two goals each. Tony, Azam, and K Chetan also scored goals. In the round of 16, Minerva faced drubbed Amdal-Tokke FK 17-0. Tony scored 4 goals and Punshiba scored another hat trick. Denamoni and Azam scored two goals each, while Amrsan also scored two goals. Raj, Rhythm, Chetan T and Rajesh also got their names on the score sheet. The team scored 90 goals in five matches and not even one goal was scored against them.

In the first two matches played on European soil, the Indian club defeated two strong clubs of the host country. In the first league match, Finland's biggest football club, HJK, was defeated 5-0, while in the second match, Lopa was defeated 7-0. In both matches, Minerva's players scored a total of 12 goals and conceded no goals. Minerva Academy has been placed in the most difficult group of the Helsinki Cup, and this is a tough challenge for the team.
