Growth of Benoni sees 3,000 locals being employed

PAPAR: The development of Benoni New Township has created about 3,000 job opportunities for the locals, said its developer, WSG Group Managing Director Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen. She said businesses that are established in Benoni Commercial Centre and Parklane City employ mostly locals. Advertisement For instance, she said a newly-opened kopitiam named Dojo Nanyang Kopi House has hired more than 50 Paparians for their outlet, same as another fast-food A&W 'We have more than 300 shops at Parklane City and Benoni Commercial Centre and created more than 3,000 job opportunities in the Benoni New Township.' Susan said this when met at the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Mini Carnival and Rahmah Madani Sales Programme (PJRM) held at Parklane City, here, last Wednesday. The programme was officiated by the Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali. Susan said she felt proud that the Benoni New Township she developed could play host to the carnival and launching of Malaysian film, 'Impak Maksima 2'. 'This is the first time that a movie premiere is held right here in Parklane City, Papar,' she said. With the support from the government, she said her company was able to develop the new township, complete with the modern facilities. Apart from the fast-food outlets, she said the township also had banks such as Koperasi Co-op bank Pertama Malaysia Berhad (CBP) and soon-to-open, Affin Bank and Maybank. She added that her company is also constructing Parklane Residences Lifestyles Condominium priced from RM246,000 onwards. She said the amenities at the township, such as food and beverage (F&B) outlets, reflexology, hairdressing salons and cinema, have attracted tourists to Parklane City, especially Bruneians. Susan hoped that the government would organise more such events in Parklane City in the future. On future developments, she added that her company is currently in talks with a higher learning institution to establish a college branch in Parklane City as well and she is looking into a proposal to provide a night market that will help small-time traders here. She said a new petrol station will be developed, while Parkson has agreed to enter the shopping mall in Parklane City. PAPAR (July 16): The development of Benoni New Township has generated approximately 3,000 job opportunities for the local community, said WSG Group Managing Director Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen. Susan shared that businesses operating in the Benoni Commercial Centre and Parklane City predominantly employ locals. For instance, the recently opened DOJO Nanyang Kopi House and A&W outlet at Parklane City have each hired over 50 Paparians. 'We have more than 300 shops operating in Parklane City and Benoni Commercial Centre,' she said. 'There are more than 3,000 job opportunities created at Benoni New Township.' She was speaking to the media during the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Mini Carnival and Rahmah Madani Sales Programme held at Parklane City on Wednesday. The event was officiated by Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali. The event also marked a historic moment for Papar, with the premiere of the Malaysian film Impak Maksima 2 held at 10Star Cinemas in Parklane City — the first movie premiere ever hosted in the area. Susan expressed her pride that the township her company developed could host both the carnival and the film premiere. 'This is the first time that a movie premiere was held right here in Parklane City, Papar,' she said. With government support, she added, WSG Group was able to develop the township with modern amenities. These include well-known F&B outlets like A&W, McDonald's and KFC, as well as financial institutions such as Koperasi Co-opbank Pertama Malaysia Berhad (CBP), with Affin Bank and Maybank set to open soon. Susan also highlighted the ongoing development of Parklane Residences Lifestyle Condominium, with units starting from RM246,000. She noted that the township's amenities such as F&B outlets, reflexology centres, hair salons and a cinema, have been drawing visitors, particularly from Brunei. Susan expressed hope that more government events would be organised in Parklane City in the future. Looking ahead, she announced that a new petrol station will be developed in the township and confirmed that Parkson has agreed to establish a presence in the upcoming shopping mall. Additionally, WSG Group is in discussions with a higher learning institution to open a branch campus in Parklane City. Also present at the event were Limbahau assemblyman Datuk Juil Nuatim and 10Star Cinemas Sdn Bhd CEO Onn Norshal Hamzah.
