Makkah Route Initiative Sets Role Model of Saudi Humanity

As one of the most prominent initiatives of Hajj seasons, Makkah Route Initiative stands as a living proof of Saudi Arabia's commitment to offering safe and smooth Hajj journeys. According to the initiative, pilgrims can complete all necessary procedures, including electronic visa issuance, biometric data collection, and airport departure checks in their home country. Therefore, pilgrims do not have to worry about their luggage. Saudi Authorities directly transfer it to their places of residence in Makkah and Madinah. Upon arrival at Saudi airports, the Kingdom offers a warm welcome that truly depicts the spirit of Islamic hospitality. Apart from this, the initiative features a pure humanitarian spirit represented in taking care of the elderly and sick and accompanying them from the start of their journey until they arrive at their residence in the Kingdom. Launched in 2017 as part of Saudi Vision 2030, the initiative features a revolutionary program designed to boost the pilgrimage experience for guests of Allah from Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Morocco, Bangladesh, Turkey, and the Ivory Coast. The initiative has served more than 617,756 pilgrims in collaboration with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, Hajj and Umrah, and Information, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), and the Guests of God Service Program. This year marks the fifth implementation of the Makkah Route Initiative in Bangladesh. The initiative aims to provide high-quality services to pilgrims from the beneficiary countries. It entails completing all necessary travel procedures in the pilgrims' home countries, such as issuing electronic visas, ensuring that pilgrims have a clean bill of health, and finalizing passport procedures at the departure airport. Additionally, luggage is coded and sorted according to the pilgrims' transportation and accommodation arrangements in the Kingdom. Upon arrival, pilgrims are offered transportation to their places of residence in Makkah and Madinah, and their luggage is delivered to their accommodations. The Makkah Route Initiative is one of the Saudi Ministry of Interior's programs, implemented in cooperation with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, Hajj, and Umrah, as well as other government entities.

Tariffs: PM Orders Review of US-Iraq Trade Relations

By John Lee. Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani chaired a high-level meeting on Saturday to assess the economic and trade impact of the United States government's decision to raise customs tariffs on imports from multiple countries, including Iraq. The discussion addressed potential effects on global markets, crude oil prices, and Iraq's domestic economy. According to data from the Ministry of Trade , the US tariff increases on Iraqi goods are attributed to the trade balance disparity between the two nations, rather than any Iraqi-imposed duties on American imports. It was also noted that most US goods reach Iraq through third countries, due to specific commercial practices by American companies. To protect national economic interests, Prime Minister Al-Sudani issued the following directives: Strengthen trade ties by opening channels for US distributors and activating Iraqi commercial agencies to enable direct sectoral trade. Improve banking relations between Iraqi and US financial institutions to support shared economic goals. Mandate the Iraqi negotiation team to re-evaluate the foundations of the trade relationship with the US, aiming for a balanced and mutually beneficial partnership. Instruct the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance, and Trade-along with relevant entities-to engage with US counterparts, monitor financial and consulting markets, and submit weekly updates to the Prime Minister's Office. UAE, Poland Explore New Areas of Trade, Economic Cooperation

Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, led a UAE delegation to Warsaw this week to meet with senior Polish government officials and explore new avenues for deepening trade and economic cooperation between the two nations. The visit follows a recent trip to the UAE by Poland's President, Andrzej Duda, and aims to build on the joint economic collaboration program initiated in 2022, which fosters business partnerships, capital exchange, and knowledge sharing. Al Zeyoudi's discussions with key figures, including Wojciech Kolarski, Head of the International Policy Department of the President's Office, focused on strengthening diplomatic ties and expanding trade opportunities. Meetings with Adam Szłapka, Minister for European Affairs, emphasized boosting bilateral trade, while talks with officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Digital Affairs centered on renewable energy, agriculture, and advanced technology in the financial sector. Al Zeyoudi highlighted the UAE's strategic location as a global business hub connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe, noting that Poland's infrastructure, including key ports, offers valuable access to European markets. He underscored the UAE's commitment to economic diversification and collaboration in sectors like manufacturing, renewable energy, and agriculture. Trade turnover between the UAE and Poland reached US$2.2 billion in 2024, with the UAE's direct investments in Poland totaling US$180 million by the end of 2023. Polish FDI in the UAE amounted to US$272 million in 2022, spanning various industries. The visit reflects the UAE's continued efforts to position itself as a global leader in trade while strengthening ties with European partners. News Source: Emirates News Agency
