Bahrain's School Bus Heroes Honoured for Their Dedication
As the 2024/2025 academic year comes to an end, the Ministry of Education in Bahrain has extended heartfelt thanks to all its teams, including a group of often unsung heroes—school bus drivers. These Bahraini drivers, part of the Ministry's Transportation and Postal Services team, played a key role in ensuring that students arrived at their schools safely and on time every day. Known for their discipline, patience, and kind-hearted nature, the drivers earned the appreciation of students, teachers, and school staff across the country. Among them is Habib Ali Marhoon, who has been proudly serving for 31 years. Over the decades, he has become a familiar and trusted face among students and teachers. 'This job requires patience, accuracy, and a strong focus on safety,' he shared. 'With the support I receive from my supervisors, I've always felt motivated to give my best.' Another driver, Sayed Jaafar Jawad Sharaf, has been on the job for 13 years. He explained that his work goes beyond just transporting students. 'I also deliver textbooks and school supplies, and sometimes handle transportation for school activities. Time management is key, especially when there are multiple stops in one day,' he said.
