Israeli Massacre: Palestinian Doctor Loses 9 of Her 10 Children - Jordan News

Dr. Alaa Al-Najjar was preparing for another day of work in the pediatric department at Al-Tahrir Hospital, part of the Nasser Medical Complex, when she was struck by news no mother's heart could bear. Her nine children had arrived at the very hospital where she worked—but as martyrs. اضافة اعلان In one of thousands of heartbreaking stories embodying Gaza's suffering, pediatrician Alaa Al-Najjar received the bodies of her nine children in the same emergency room where she cares for others. An Israeli airstrike targeted the family home in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, on Saturday morning. Dr. Alaa, a pediatric specialist, had left her home early that day with her husband, Dr. Hamdi Al-Najjar, who dropped her off at her regular hospital shift to care for young patients. She had no idea that the day, which began like any other, would turn into a devastating tragedy—her children arriving not to visit, but wrapped in white shrouds. According to health workers, the Israeli occupation not only targets doctors at their workplaces but also follows them into their homes, destroying their families and dreams. Dr. Munir Al-Bursh, Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, reported that the airstrike claimed the lives of Dr. Alaa's nine children—none older than twelve: Yahya, Rakan, Ruslan, Jubran, Eve, Revan, Saydin, Luqman, and Sidra. The tenth child, Adam, miraculously survived but sustained serious injuries. He is now hospitalized alongside his father, Dr. Hamdi Al-Najjar, who is being treated in the intensive care unit. Alaa, who spent her life easing the pain of sick children and comforting their mothers, suddenly found herself in an unimaginable position—facing the bodies of her own nine children in the same hospital she had devoted her life and career to. Searching for words to console herself, all she could say was: 'All the children of Gaza are my children... but these were my life.' Commenting on the tragedy, Dr. Munir Al-Bursh said: 'What happened is a painful example of what medical staff in Gaza endure. Words are not enough to describe the pain. In Gaza, it's not only medical workers who are targeted—Israel deliberately commits atrocities against entire families.' On Saturday, the Hamas movement said that the Israeli army committed yet another massacre by targeting the home of Dr. Alaa Al-Najjar while she was on duty at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, resulting in the killing of her nine children. In a statement, the movement declared: 'In a new brutal crime, the fascist Israeli army carried out a horrific massacre by launching an airstrike on the home of Dr. Alaa Al-Najjar, a physician at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, causing her nine children to be martyred while she was performing her humanitarian duty.' The movement emphasized that this crime is a clear reflection of 'the sadism of the occupation and the deeply rooted spirit of revenge that drives [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu and the human beasts who commit mass killings in cold blood, devoid of any moral or human restraint.'

Gaza faces humanitarian collapse amid escalating Israeli offensive, healthcare breakdown

Gaza faces an imminent humanitarian catastrophe as Israel's military campaign, now in its 19th consecutive month, continues to intensify. Escalating air and ground operations, coupled with deepening restrictions on civilian movement and aid access, are accelerating the collapse of Gaza's infrastructure and health services, while prompting widespread warnings from local authorities and international agencies. The Ministry of Health in Gaza issued an urgent appeal this week, warning that current fuel conservation efforts are no longer sufficient to keep hospital generators operational. Without immediate fuel deliveries, critical healthcare services are projected to cease within 84 hours. The Government Media Office echoed this warning, calling on the international community to act swiftly and deliver fuel to avert the complete breakdown of the enclave's healthcare system. According to the latest figures from the Health Ministry, 48 Palestinians were killed and 142 injured in the past 24 hours. The total death toll since 7 October 2023, has now reached 52,615, with 118,752 reported injuries. Since March 18 alone, 2,507 people have been killed and 6,711 wounded. On the diplomatic front, Egypt has received a new proposal from the United States intended to revive long-stalled mediation efforts between Hamas and Israel. Citing Egyptian diplomatic sources, Arab media reported that the proposal could serve as a preliminary framework for ceasefire negotiations and a potential pathway to political dialogue aimed at ending the war. Meanwhile, Qatar confirmed that its mediation efforts are ongoing despite what officials describe as deteriorating conditions. Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari said during a press briefing on Tuesday that Doha remains in close contact with key stakeholders, including the United States, in pursuit of a humanitarian ceasefire. He described the situation in Gaza as 'catastrophic by all standards' and acknowledged that serious obstacles remain in reaching an agreement. On the ground, the Israeli military announced plans to expand its offensive operations in Rafah, a densely populated area in southern Gaza where hundreds of thousands of displaced civilians have sought refuge. According to a military statement, the campaign will now include additional neighborhoods and targets within the city. This development follows Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's formal approval of expanded military action in Gaza, including plans to occupy the territory and push its population further south. In a highly controversial statement reflecting growing fears of forced displacement, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich declared at a settler conference that 'victory will be achieved when Gaza becomes absolute rubble and its population is concentrated south of the Morag axis and begins to leave en masse to a third country.' He emphasized the government's intent to 'eliminate Hamas and completely destroy Gaza.' Further supporting accusations of systematic displacement, Israeli army radio revealed a new aid distribution strategy aimed at accelerating population movement out of northern Gaza. Under this plan, humanitarian aid will be restricted exclusively to Rafah—particularly the corridor between Morag and Salah al-Din (Philadelphi)—an area now under full Israeli control. Aid recipients will be required to undergo stringent security screenings to ensure they are not affiliated with Hamas. Only three aid distribution centers are planned, all located in Rafah, with no provisions for aid in northern Gaza. The report indicates a possible temporary distribution center may be established in the north but will be dismantled once population transfers are completed. The international community continues to voice strong opposition. Hamas condemned the latest Israeli ground operations, calling them a 'decision to sacrifice Israeli hostages,' and accusing Israel of undermining ongoing mediation efforts. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) also rejected Israel's plan to shut down the existing aid mechanism in Gaza, stating that it violates essential humanitarian principles of neutrality, impartiality, and independence. The agency emphasized that any aid framework must meet these standards to effectively support civilians.

Health Ministry: Over 16,000 Children Killed Since Start of Israeli War

DaysofPal- The Ministry of Health in Gaza has reported that more than 16,278 children have been killed since the beginning of the Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, averaging one child killed every 40 minutes. The grim figure was announced during the launch of the Global Campaign in Solidarity with the Children of Gaza held on Monday. The ministry warned that Gaza is facing unprecedented health and humanitarian catastrophes, with no time left for international actors to delay intervention. According to the ministry, 311 children were born and killed during the war, highlighting the inescapable danger facing newborns and infants under constant siege. The ongoing blockade has deprived over 2 million residents of food, clean water, and medical supplies for more than two months. The ministry said that 51% of essential maternal and child health medications are now unavailable, including therapeutic supplements, vitamins, and routine vaccinations. Among the most alarming concerns is the continued prevention of polio vaccine entry, threatening the region's already fragile public health infrastructure. Malnutrition and medical complications have now claimed the lives of at least 57 children, and the numbers continue to rise. The ministry also documented the deaths of children in targeted bombings of charitable institutions, stating that some were killed while trying to obtain food rations. During the conference, Gaza's health authorities appealed to 'the free people of the world' to take urgent action to stop the war of extermination and famine, calling on health and humanitarian organizations, media professionals, and activists to rally behind the children of Gaza. 'This is no longer a matter of solidarity,' the ministry said. 'It is a call to rescue a generation on the brink of annihilation.' Shortlink for this post:

Dr. al-Barash: 92% of children, nursing mothers in Gaza suffer from malnutrition

Gaza - Saba: Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza Dr. Munir al-Barash revealed on Thursday that approximately 91 percent of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are facing a food crisis two months after the Zionist enemy closed the crossings. Al-Barash said in press statements: "92 percent of children and nursing mothers in Gaza suffer from severe malnutrition due to the Zionist blockade, which poses a direct threat to their lives and development." He added: "65 percent of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip do not have access to clean drinking water due to the ongoing Zionist genocide." Al-Barash called on the United Nations to issue an official declaration of famine in Gaza, given that field indicators and medical and humanitarian data confirm that international conditions for this have been met.
