Local government minister inaugurates new seafront promenade in Zuwara
Acting Minister of Local Government, Abdel Shafi' Al-Juwaifi, officially inaugurated the newly developed seafront promenade in the coastal city of Zuwara on Sunday evening. The project was carried out by the Ministry of Local Government under the Government of National Unity in cooperation with Zuwara Municipality, as part of broader efforts to support local development.
During a tour of the site, the minister, accompanied by an official delegation, inspected the new facilities and was briefed on the project's components and phases of implementation. Al-Juwaifi expressed satisfaction with the quality of the work and underscored the importance of completing the remaining stages in line with high technical standards to meet the expectations of residents and visitors.
The first phase of the project spans two hectares and includes a variety of public amenities aimed at boosting Zuwara's appeal as a tourism and leisure destination. Features include a modern café, family seating areas, landscaped green spaces, a decorative fountain, and a 350-metre-long walking path — offering a new recreational space for locals and tourists alike.
At the end of his visit, the minister praised the project as a milestone achievement and reiterated the ministry's commitment to supporting infrastructure initiatives that enhance urban living and strengthen the identity of Libyan cities as emerging tourist and recreational hubs. News Tagged: Zuwara
