Kylie Minogue Joins Prestigious ‘21 Club' at London's O2 Arena
Kylie Minogue is the latest musician – and the first female performer – to join the prestigious '21 Club' at London's O2 Arena. As per Rolling Stone Australia, the honor is bestowed upon performers who have performed 21 or more sold-out shows at the English venue. For Minogue, the admission to the club follows on from her four recent performances at the venue as part of her global Tension Tour – bringing her final tally to 24. More from Billboard 7 Fabulous Moments From Kylie Minogue's Madison Square Garden Show Kevin Parker Previews New Tame Impala Music During Barcelona DJ Set 'Maybe Happy Ending,' 'Sunset Blvd.' Win Key 2025 Tony Awards: Full Winners List The club was first launched in 2007 to mark Prince's record-breaking run of 21 sold-out shows at the venue, and since then only seven other performers have been inducted, including Michael Bublé, Take That, One Direction, Drake, Young Voices, Micky Flanagan and Michael McIntyre. Michael Jackson's 50-date This Is It residency would have seen him become the second artist inducted into the club, though these shows were cancelled following his premature death in June 2009. Minogue first performed at the venue in July 2008, just over a year on from its initial opening, and will receive a bespoke 'key to the venue' as part of her induction. 'The 'O2 21 Club.' London …. you know how much I love you already but THISSSS was special,' Minogue wrote of the honor on social media. 'To be the first female headliner to make the club and join PRINCE!!! Wowwwwwww. THANK YOU.' 'It's a huge achievement to join the exclusive 21 Club at The O2, and we couldn't be happier that Kylie is the first female to do so,' added Emma Bownes, Senior Vice President of Venue Programming at AEG Europe. 'She is a phenomenon, a true music icon, and we're beyond grateful she's brought so many of her incredible tours here. We hope there are plenty more to come.' Minogue's impressive feat follows on from another legacy-related milestone in February, where she was honored with a star at the Melbourne Park sporting complex in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia. Coinciding with the third of three consecutive performances at the city's 14,820-capacity Rod Laver Arena, it also coincided with Minogue's first performance at the venue back in Feb. 1990 when it was then known as the National Tennis Centre. Since her debut at Rod Laver Arena 35 years ago, Minogue has gone on to play 30 shows at Melbourne Park, amassing sales of more than 350,000 tickets in the process. Her three recent dates brought that total to 33 performances with an additional 36,000 ticket sales, making her one of the most successful artists to ever perform at the Melbourne destination. Minogue's Tension tour continues throughout Europe across June and July, before wrapping in South America the following month. Kylie Minogue's emotional end to US tour
Kylie Minogue has finished her first US and Canada arena tour on a high, thanking fans for their "beautiful energy". The 56-year-old has been performing tracks from her four-decade career on the current leg of her Tension tour. At her show at Los Angeles' Arena on Friday, US time, she admitted she was overwhelmed and "very, very grateful". "Here we are in 2025 and I get to be on a world tour with these beautiful humans, beautiful intelligent humans - the ones you can see on the stage and off stage," she told the audience, according to Billboard. "And I get very emotional thinking about this, this … it's been a lifetime and sometimes it just amazes me. So very, very grateful. Thank you so much for being here." And before her final song, Love at First Sight, the Padam Padam hitmaker thanked her fans for their "beautiful energy" and gave a special "shout-out" to all those who had worked on the tour. "You've been beyond tonight. You've been here, present, ready, going — thank you so much for being here, for your beautiful energy, for being here for me in all different times of my career. For being there for each other! "I just want to give a real shout-out to our entire crew because this has been an incredible run. We've loved it, so thank you." Minogue began the Tension tour in Perth, before heading for three dates in Asia in March and on to a 16-date run of shows in Canada and the US. She will then head to Europe later in May, before taking the concert series to South America on August 7, rounding out the world tour with three shows in Mexico. By the end of the run, she will have played almost 70 shows in more than 25 countries on five continents.

Kylie Minogue is a good sport about being forced to cancel her Denver concert
A Kylie Minogue concert on her triumphant Tension tour of America has been bounced for a basketball game. And not just any match, but the NBA playoffs. The Aussie pop queen nobly but regrettably canned her gig at Ball Arena scheduled for April 29 when the Denver Nuggets made the first round playoff series. The local team will host the Los Angeles Clippers at the venue, a win for Denver's basketball fans but a 'Pa-damn!' cancellation for Minogue fans who were anticipating her first ever concert in the Colorado city. 'I'm so sorry that we're now unable to visit Denver on the Tension Tour due to a scheduling conflict with the NBA playoffs … I was really looking forward to performing in Colorado for the first time,' she posted to fans. While disappointed about now missing Denver on the Tension tour, Minogue was a good sport about the last minute venue tug-of-war. '(I'm) sending my best to the Denver Nuggets for their hometown games,' she wrote. The Tension world tour kicked off in Australia to rave reviews last month and is first big run of dates in America since 2011. Minogue has enjoyed a career renaissance in the US since 'Padam Padam' exploded worldwide in 2023, the dance-pop single becoming one of her biggest hits there since 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' and winning a Grammy. She stoked the fan fires there with the More Than Just a Residency gigs at Voltaire at The Venetian Resort from November 3, 2023, to May 4, 2024. The song's success reaffirmed Minogue's cultural relevance in America, with the singer also boosting her acting career there, albeit playing herself, in the recent Netflix comedy crime caper, The Residence. Earlier this month, the Empire State Building's world-famous tower was illuminated in green and gold in tribute to her Madison Square Garden Show. Minogue's trophy room will receive another addition on Wednesday at the 2025 APRA Awards in Melbourne. The local gongs, which recognise the achievements of Australian songwriters, have announced Minogue as the recipient of this year's prestigious Ted Albert Award for Outstanding Services to Australian Music. 'Having known Kylie as a collaborative partner and then watched her development from a distance for many years, it's impossible not be in awe of her dedication and focus to her craft,' her old mate Jason Donovan told Rolling Stone. 'Whether it's as a songwriter, music artist, pop star, actor or visual conceptualist, she does everything with passion and dedication, embracing the creative process with a razor-sharp attention to detail. 'Having begun her career as an actor, Kylie truly understands the collaborative process, treating everyone as equals. Kylie is not just an international creative rocket but a hardworking and authentic Melbourne girl who is proud of her Australian heritage.'
