Kylie Minogue's emotional end to US tour

Perth Now04-05-2025
Kylie Minogue has finished her first US and Canada arena tour on a high, thanking fans for their "beautiful energy".
The 56-year-old has been performing tracks from her four-decade career on the current leg of her Tension tour.
At her show at Los Angeles' Crypto.com Arena on Friday, US time, she admitted she was overwhelmed and "very, very grateful".
"Here we are in 2025 and I get to be on a world tour with these beautiful humans, beautiful intelligent humans - the ones you can see on the stage and off stage," she told the audience, according to Billboard.
"And I get very emotional thinking about this, this … it's been a lifetime and sometimes it just amazes me. So very, very grateful. Thank you so much for being here."
And before her final song, Love at First Sight, the Padam Padam hitmaker thanked her fans for their "beautiful energy" and gave a special "shout-out" to all those who had worked on the tour.
"You've been beyond tonight. You've been here, present, ready, going — thank you so much for being here, for your beautiful energy, for being here for me in all different times of my career. For being there for each other!
"I just want to give a real shout-out to our entire crew because this has been an incredible run. We've loved it, so thank you."
Minogue began the Tension tour in Perth, before heading for three dates in Asia in March and on to a 16-date run of shows in Canada and the US.
She will then head to Europe later in May, before taking the concert series to South America on August 7, rounding out the world tour with three shows in Mexico.
By the end of the run, she will have played almost 70 shows in more than 25 countries on five continents.

Dannii Minogue: Aussie star set to make long-awaited TV return in UK drama Imposter

More than three decades after she departed Home and Away's golden shores, Dannii Minogue is set to make her acting comeback in a bitter family drama also starring Neighbours icon Jackie Woodburne. The new TV series, titled Imposter, is being produced for the UK's Channel 5 and shot in Australia. Spotted filming in Melbourne, Minogue, 53, cut a radiant figure as she donned a white summer dress matched with blue and tan heels, and a sky blue coat. In shots from filming, Minogue cosies up to co-star Harrison Popple, an emerging Perth-born talent whose best known credit to date is Australian children's drama Itch, filmed in Perth and Albany from 2019-2020. Woodburne, 69, looked a far cry from her beloved Susan Kennedy character on the soap, seen sporting a grey coat and dusty silver hair. Imposter has been described as a Succession-like family feud with a fight for money at its core. Its Aussie cast also features familiar faces Don Hany and Jane Harber, both of whom starred in popular drama Offspring. Harber is also known for Upper Middle Bogan. UK actress and singer Kym Marsh, who became a show favourite on Coronation Street, is also set to star. An Australian broadcaster is yet to be announced but it is set to screen in the UK in 2026.

‘A proud symbol of representation and visibility': Madame Tussauds Sydney unveils first ‘non-binary' wax figure of rocker G Flip

Aussie rocker G Flip has become the first non-binary person to be immortalised in wax by Madame Tussauds Sydney. The Melbourne-born singer and drummer, who goes by they/them pronouns, was unveiled as the latest addition to the museum on Wednesday. G Flip's waxy doppelganger is part of Madame Tussauds' music icon series and will appear alongside the likes of Kylie Minogue, Taylor Swift and Harry Styles. 'Wow, this is extremely wild. Very stoked to be made of wax and be the first non-binary wax figure in Australia,' G Flip said in a statement. 'It's an honour to be included among so many legends. I hope everyone enjoys whacking some drums with the wax version of me, apologies for the noise in advance.' While G Flip's wax figure will be on permanent display in Sydney, the real G Flip now lives in Los Angeles with their wife, Netflix star Chrisell Stause. In a press release, Madame Tussauds claimed the new statue would serve as 'historic moment' for the country's LGBTQ+ community. 'The figure also stands as a proud symbol of representation and visibility, celebrating LGBTQ+ Australians and reinforcing Madame Tussauds' commitment to showcasing diverse icons who inspire and lead with authenticity,' a spokesperson for the wax museum said. 'G Flip has revolutionised the Australian music scene with their raw talent and fearless authenticity,' Chris Harvey, Head of Operations at Madame Tussauds Sydney added. 'But beyond the music, they've become a beacon of inclusivity and self-expression. This figure celebrates both their artistry and their impact - and we're proud to welcome them to our Sydney Live! zone.' The original Madame Tussauds museum was opened in London in 1835 by French sculptor Marie Tussaud, who wowed the public with her eerily life-like creations. The Madame Tussauds brand is now owned by Merlion Entertainments, which operates over a dozen wax museums across the globe.
