Lucknow: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) team on Thursday arrested two individuals from Meerut in connection with the embezzlement of Rs 4 crore, earmarked for the Minority Pre-Matric Scholarship during the 2010-11 fiscal year.
The accused — Dharmapal Singh alias Brahmpal and Mohsina Khan — were booked under IPC sections of 409, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120B of the Indian Penal Code, along with section 8 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The Minority Pre-Matric Scholarship, provided by the Government of India, was intended to support minority students.
