Five RTP projects completed in Bekenu, handed over to local communities

MIRI (Aug 9): Five Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects funded under the Bekenu state constituency have been fully completed and handed over to their respective communities. A series of simple ceremonies were held on Wednesday, officiated by State Deputy Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development and Bekenu assemblywoman, Datuk Rosey Yunus who presided over the handovers of the completed projects across five villages. The first ceremony took place at Kampung Baru Subis 2 where a newly completed village hall, built at a cost of RM500,000, was officially handed over. The hall was completed on April 18. This was followed by the handover of a futsal court at Rumah Agan in Batu Niah, built at a cost of RM230,000 and completed on March 16. In the third event, Rosey handed over the upgraded community hall at Rumah Andrew Abak, Batu Niah, completed at a cost of RM300,000. The fourth handover involved the completed project of a silat court at Rumah Chermi in Saeh Niah, valued at RM250,000. The final project was the newly roofed futsal court at Rumah Christopher Banyong, Saeh Niah valued at RM230,000. All five projects were implemented by the Miri Public Works Department. Also present at the ceremonies were Pemanca Dr Ali Mudin, Penghulu Wan Fauzi, Penghulu Ahmad Zaini, and several longhouse chiefs from the Bekenu constituency. Bekenu lead Rosey Yunus RTP projects
