Mrs Macdonald was rushed to nearby Raigmore Hospital where she later tragically died from her injuries the following day. A 55-year-old male, named in court as Ian MacDonald, was also found seriously injured. It is understood that the man, thought to be Mrs MacDonald's husband, is in intensive care, but his condition has not been officially disclosed. The family have asked for privacy as they come to terms with the death. A 30-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection, and he appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court on Tuesday. Thomas Fraser, the couple's son, made no plea and was committed for further examination and remanded in custody by Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald. The first charge alleges that on June 1 Fraser repeatedly stabbed his father on the body with two knives to his serious injury, danger of life and he attempted to murder him. The second charge alleges that on June 2, 2025, he murdered his mother by repeatedly stabbing her to the head, neck, and body with two knives. Photographs taken at the scene of the alleged incident showed forensics and specialist officers attending a property at Craigton Avenue on Sunday. "Around 7.30pm on Sunday, 1 June, officers were called to the Craigton Avenue area of the city. "The woman and a 55-year-old man were taken to Raigmore Hospital with serious injuries. "The woman died in hospital the following day. The man remains in hospital. "The family have asked for privacy as they come to terms with the death. "A 30-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and he appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 3 June, 2025."

Inverness woman allegedly murdered by her son named by police
A woman who was allegedly murdered by her son in a disturbance in Inverness has been named by MacDonald, 52, was taken to hospital after emergency services were called to a house in Craigton Avenue at about 19:30 on Sunday.
