FBM expands gold footprint near Coolgardie

Future Battery Minerals adds seven tenement applications, expanding Burbanks East to 10km2 New holdings cover an area of highly prospective ground in a fertile gold region Company carrying out review of historical data with plans for geophysical interpretation and ground truthing to define new gold targets Special Report: Future Battery Minerals has expanded its gold tenue near Coolgardie, WA, after pegging out seven new contiguous tenement applications to increase the Burbanks East project area to 10km2. The newly staked tenements, which also increase the company's overall landholdings across the Coolgardie Greenstone Belt to over 75km2, cover a 5km strike of greenstone lithologies prospective for gold within a broader proven fertile gold belt. Future Battery Minerals (ASX:FBM) has good reason to expand Burbanks East as it's along strike from the operating MacPhersons Reward gold mine and just 2km east of the Burbanks gold mine and processing plant. Burbanks East also builds on the company's existing gold footprint at the Miriam project, where historical drilling at the Miriam's Forrest target returned shallow gold hits such as: 12m grading 2.09g/t gold from 60m (MRC97-15) 10m at 2.51g/t gold from 30m (FGA002) 10m at 2.09g/t gold from 30m and 4m at 4.86g/t from 73m (MRC97-5); and 5m at 7.35g/t gold from 70m (MRC97-25). Watch: Full Miriam minerals acquired for Goldfields drilling 'The scale of opportunity currently being assessed at Burbanks East has warranted a strategic expansion of our project landholdings, which now cover a 10km2 area of highly prospective ground in a fertile gold region,' managing director Nick Rathjen said. 'A detailed evaluation of all available historical geological and drilling data is now underway, hopefully replicating the encouraging results recently produced at Miriam, where multiple prospective new gold zones have been identified. 'Located just 2.5 km from each other, our planned near-term activities at both Miriam and Burbanks East are naturally strategically complementary. Initial RC drilling at Miriam remains scheduled to commence in July 2025.' The Burbanks East gold project. Pic: Future Battery Minerals Burbanks East FBM had initially submitted two prospecting license applications covering 2km2 close to the Miriam project and multiple nearby gold deposits in January 2025. These original applications over Burbanks East cover an area of surficial elevated gold anomalism, based on historical data collected by Barra Resources in 2007. Apart from a wide-spaced, non-targeted aircore drilling program carried out in 1996, the area has not seen any recent exploration activity with public domain data confirming that it is largely untested by historical drilling. The company has started an extensive review of all available historical data covering these new tenements with results expected by the end of June 2025. It also plans to carry out magnetic geophysical interpretation and ground truthing to define new gold targets while Burbanks East progresses toward grant. Separately, litho-geophysical and geochemical review, including gold assaying of soil samples, is advancing at the Miriam project, with results expected in June 2025. An initial reverse circulation drill program is poised to start in July 2025 to test these initial gold targets and follow up on historical drilling at the Forrest and Forrest South targets.
