Buckingham Palace forced to remove Anne birthday post after major family gaffe Our eagle-eyed Royal team spotted Buckingham Palace make a major gaffe earlier this Thursday, leaving them red-faced. To celebrate Princess Anne's upcoming birthday tomorrow, the Palace had released a list of 75 facts about the Princess Royal However, one so-called fact caused quite a stir among Royal enthusiasts, leading to the entire post being removed. The contentious point was number fourteen on the list, which claimed that Anne, King Charles ' sister, had two stepchildren from her second marriage to Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence. The Palace even named these supposed stepchildren as Tom and Amy Laurence. This information was quickly debunked by fans who pointed out that Sir Tim, a retired Royal Navy officer, had not been previously married before tying the knot with Princess Anne in December 1992. But education leaders warned of stark divides in results between different areas of the country. On average across the UK, 28.3% of entries were awarded either an A or A*, up from 27.8% in 2024 and above 25.4% in 2019. Boys took a lead over girls in the top grades for the first time since 2018, with 28.4% of boys' A-level entries scoring an A or A* this summer, compared to 28.2% of their female classmates' entries. Gabrielle Morgan, 18, who is from Newcastle and who achieved straight A*s in English literature, Spanish and chemistry, said: "I could practically hear her celebrating with me when the offer came through. I know just how proud of me she is and I know she helped a lot, even though she wasn't here physically." Her mum, who moved from Malaysia to the UK in her early 20s, died from lung cancer in April last year.

Mirror's Daily Digest - top five stories you need to read tonight
In this Thursday's Mirror Daily Digest, we've pulled together the biggest stories of the day - from a 'bullied' Prince Harry to a major change for who can vote in UK general elections Welcome to the Mirror's Daily Digest, where we'll be pulling together all the best stories of the day from our News, Showbiz, Sport teams and more. This Thursday, we're featuring everything from a bombshell interview where an unexpected royal admits she "feels sorry" for Prince Harry, to Olly Murs saying his body-shaming went 'too far'. Elsewhere the Mirror's Deputy Political Editor Mikey Smith lists five unhinged Donald Trump moments as Epstein row takes an unexpected twist, and there's also the chance to meet a British man left amazed after trying the cheapest full English in Benidorm. To round things up, we bring you the shocking story of a poor mum who's getting trolled for sharing videos of her 'giant' baby online. Prince Harry has been 'bullied' says Princess who feels sorry for him An unexpected royal has admitted she "feels sorry" for Prince Harry in a bombshell interview. The Duke of Sussex is currently embroiled in a bitter rift with his father, King Charles and brother Prince William after levelling a series of accusations against them in his Netflix show and memoir, Spare. However, hopes of a reconciliation between Harry and his dad, the King, have been sparked after senior aides for father and son were spotted meeting at a private members' club in London. But discussing Harry's situation on a podcast was Princess Delphine of Belgium, who claimed she 'understands' the Duke's plight and said that "everyone is bullying him". The princess herself has also experienced family turmoil as she is the illegitimate daughter of Belgium's former monarch, King Albert II. A DNA test proved her paternity, and she later won a landmark ruling to be called a princess and styled as "Her Royal Highness". Olly Murs says his body-shaming went 'too far' after backlash over new body When new dad Olly Murs proudly showed off the results of a 12 week health kick, the last thing he expected was a vicious bodyshaming backlash. Cruelly, he was told women preferred his 'huggable dad bod' to his new honed physique, and he was told his muscles made him look 'aged and too lean'. But after three months of 'beast mode' weight training and boxing sessions to get him fighting fit for his current tour, Olly says, defiantly: 'I'm in the best shape of my life in my 40s.' The singer explains: 'I didn't get my body out there for people to judge it - I was just doing it for my own tour, and for my own laughs with my fans, and for looking good. I wanted to feel good. I wanted to represent myself at 40 on the biggest tour of my life, celebrating 15 years and being the healthiest and the fittest I could be.' 5 unhinged Donald Trump moments as Epstein row takes unexpected twist What's going on with my 'guys', and in some cases, 'gals'? Last night there was a twist in the Epstein row that nobody expected - and it's really unclear how it'll shake out. Meanwhile, Trump continued to call his most active supporters "stupid". And he's so determined to reduce the trade deficit with Mexico that he's convinced Coca-Cola to use real sugar - despite howls of protest from farmers. Here's all that, plus more things that happened in Trump world overnight ... 'I tried cheapest full English in Benidorm and I was left amazed' A British man was 'amazed' after trying the 'cheapest' full English breakfast available in Benidorm for less than £4. The Spanish municipality, based in the province of Alicante, is a firm favourite holiday destination for many British residents and Louis Grier is no exception. In fact, the 32-year-old has made the sunny seaside hotspot his home. Recently, Louis was impressed after spotting the iconic full English breakfast on offer for the low price of £3.90. He regularly updates his 43.2K TikTok followers on his life in Benidorm, sharing his experiences and tips for those looking to holiday or move there for themselves. In a recent video, which has so far pulled in more than 58K views, Louis ventured to Mariano's, a popular and well known restaurant in Benidorm, where he was keen to try the venue's take on the legendary full English breakfast. Mum of giant baby that weighs 22lb accused of child abuse by sick trolls A mum has been trolled for sharing videos of her "giant" baby that weighs a whopping 22lb at just four months old - but doctors insist he's healthy. Maci Mugele has shared clips of the baby - that some have branded "chunky" - on TikTok to songs like the I Like Them Chunky song by Users have accused the mum of "child abuse" while others have called the baby "cute". Gunner weighed 8lb 1oz and measured 19.5 inches tall when he was born on February 19 but has since shot up to 22lb 8oz and now measures two-and-a-half feet long. The 21-year-old says that Gunner measured big throughout her pregnancy and continues to "eat more than the average baby".

Mirror Daily Digest: Our top stories from Starmer suspends MPs to boy, 6, 'kills newborn in hospital'
In this Wednesday's Mirror Daily Digest, we've pulled together the biggest stories of the day from Starmer's suspension of four Labour MPs to the tragic death of a baby in hospital Welcome to the Mirror's Daily Digest, where we pull together all the best stories of the day from our News, Showbiz, Sport teams and more. This Wednesday, we're featuring everything from a newborn being 'killed by a boy left to roam a hospital maternity ward' to the PM's suspension of four MPs and Emma Watson's driving ban. A criminal enquiry has been launched in France after a boy, 6,'left to roam around a maternity unit' allegedly killed a newborn baby. Elsewhere, Harry Potter star Emma Watson was banned from driving after her fourth offence in two years and Keir Starmer suspended four Labour MPs over discipline breaches. Boy, 6, 'kills newborn baby girl while roaming hospital's maternity ward' A baby identified as Zayneb-Cassandra, who was born premature to a 23-year-old woman earlier this month, suffered a traumatic brain injury last Friday after the boy "treated her like a doll" and dropped her on the floor of the Jeanne-de-Flandre Children's Hospital in Lille. The boy had already been reported as a 'disruptive presence' in the hospital when he was found alone with the unconscious baby in a neonatal unit. The baby was her mother's first child, and she was delivered by caesarean section, said the investigating source. Zayneb-Cassandra's grandmother told the Voix du Nord newspaper: 'The boy would arrive at 7am and spend all day running up and down the hallways.' She added: "All the mothers were complaining, and a nurse even warned the child's mother that there was a problem. He was entering the other rooms." Harry Potter's Emma Watson banned from driving after fourth offence in two years Our Showbiz team's eyes were drawn to court again today as Emma Watson was handed a six month driving ban after pleading guilty to speeding. The Harry Potter star did not appear at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court for sentencing. The 35-year-old actress earlier this year admitted to driving at 38mph in a 30mph zone. She was driving her Audi S3, which was towed away last year after being illegally parked, when her car was caught by a camera on Banbury Road, Oxford. Emma was later charged by post and pleaded guilty to the driving offence on March 3. Today she was sentenced over the driving offence. Keir Starmer suspends four Labour MPs over discipline breaches This afternoon, our Politics team broke the news that Keir Starmer has suspended four Labour MPs over persistent breaches of party discipline and stripped three others of trade envoy roles after a series of rebellions. Brian Leishman, Chris Hinchliff and Neil Duncan-Jordan - all elected just last year - and Rachael Maskell will now sit as Independents in the House of Commons. It is understood the four MPs met with the Chief Whip today, where they were told they would be suspended for repeated breaches of party discipline, pending a future review. They were among dozens of Labour backbenchers to vote against the government earlier this month on disability benefit cuts. Mr Duncan-Jordan, the MP for Poole, was among 42 Labour MPs to sign a letter earlier this year warning the PM cuts to disability benefits were "impossible to support". He told The Mirror: "To my constituents: it's business as usual. I remain your hardworking local MP, I will continue to take up your concerns and speak up for Poole." Prince Harry 'won't let Meghan go to England' as he 'bans' her from latest trip After Prince Harry landed in Angola on Tuesday, our Royal team reported that the Duke of Sussex has "banned" his wife, Meghan Markle, from joining him on his recent trip to the African state of Angola due to safety concerns. Insiders likened the move to him not letting her visit the UK. Meghan Markle has not returned to Britain since the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022, where she was pictured on a walkabout with Prince William, Prince Harry and Princess Kate outside Windsor Castle. The once dubbed "Fab Four" haven't been pictured together since then. Now, an insider claims Harry refuses to let Meghan return to the UK along with join him on his latest trip. "The duke won't let his wife go to England over security concerns, so there was no chance he'd allow her to go to Angola to walk across landmines," a source told the Daily Mail. Bizarre story of Sycamore Gap duo and moment that 'tipped them over the edge' Following their sentencing yesterday, the two men who cut down the famous tree at Sycamore Gap out of "sheer bravado" have now been put behind bars. This Wednesday, our news team have been looking further into the bizarre story of the duo. The two were once pals with locals saying the plot saw "the man with no friends" - Daniel Graham, 39 - team up with "the man with no brains", Adam Carruthers, 32. Their three-minute "moronic" destruction of the much-loved tree, which had stood for more than 100 years in a fold in the Northumberland landscape, will never be forgotten. Graham turned on Carruthers, tipping police off that he had cut down the iconic landmark in September 2023. The pair, who were each jailed for four years and three months, were convicted of criminal damage to the tree along with criminal damage to Hadrian's Wall, caused when the sycamore fell on the ancient monument.

Mirror Daily Digest: Real reason Sycamore Gap was felled to major TV licence overhaul
In this Tuesday's Mirror Daily Digest, we've pulled together the biggest stories of the day from the real reason two vandals chopped down the Sycamore Gap to a major BBC TV licence overhaul Welcome to the Mirror's Daily Digest, where we pull together all the best stories of the day from our News, Showbiz, Sport teams and more. This Tuesday, we're featuring everything from the real reason the Sycamore Gap tree was felled by vandals to the BBC admitting it is looking into a licence fee overhaul. The Sycamore Gap vandals learned their fate earlier today as they were jailed for four years. Before their sentence was passed down the pair revealed the real reason they felled the famous tree. Elsewhere, the BBC director general revealed some key TV licence fee updates and Romeo Beckham continued to goad his estranged brother. Sycamore Gap vandals reveal reason they chopped down famous UK landmark This afternoon, our News team's focus has been drawn toward the courtroom as the Sycamore Gap vandals learned their fate for felling the famous tree. Daniel Graham, 39, and Adam Carruthers, 32, who chopped down the landmark have been put behind bars for four years and three months. Defending their case, the pair offered an underwhelming excuse for the infamous felling, claiming that it was a drunken prank. Despite their defence claiming the act was "no more than drunken stupidity", neither the prosecution nor the judge were convinced. Andrew Gurney, lawyer for Adam Carruthers, however said he could not offer a "better explanation". He said: 'People want to know 'Why? Why did you conduct this mindless act?' Unfortunately, it is no more than drunken stupidity. He felled that tree and it is something he will regret for the rest of his life. There's no better explanation than that.' BBC licence fee overhaul - 'Fight is on' as 300,000 households stop paying Following the controversies of Glastonbury, MasterChef and coverage of Gaza, BBC Director General Tim Davie faced a grilling today as the corporation's annual report was published. The report revealed 23.8m licences were in force at the end of the year, down from 24.1m in 2023-24. The BBC has admitted it is looking into a licence fee overhaul as 300,000 more households have stopped paying it. The drop means a loss of about £50m in revenue for the corporation. BBC Chair Samir Shah says in the annual report: 'The fight is on, and it is vital we now think very carefully about the kind of media environment we want for the UK.' He added they were searching for 'the best future funding model for the BBC'. Romeo Beckham continues to goad Brooklyn as he poses with Harper The three youngest Beckham siblings have proved they remain as tight knit as ever, despite eldest Brooklyn turning his back on them. With a close eye on Instagram, our Showbiz team spotted Romeo Beckham share some unseen photos with sister Harper to showcase their bond just as the feud with their older brother escalates. The family has been rocked by a very public fallout that has now spilled into a social media war. David and Victoria's eldest son Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz have chosen to distance themselves from the clan over the last year with things heating up when the young couple failed to attend football icon David's 50th birthday celebrations in May. Brooklyn then did not send any message of support when David received his long awaited knighthood or a tribute on Father's Day. Instead, he has been loyal to his wife and shared gushing posts about Nicola as well as her family. A British mum who claims she was fitted up for trafficking more than £300,000 worth of cocaine into Bali today issued a grovelling apology as she wept: "I won't trust people so easily again." Lisa Stocker, 39, is facing the death penalty in Indonesia after she was found with 992 grams of cocaine stashed in 17 packets of the dessert Angel Delight. She appeared in Denpasar central court today alongside her husband Jon Collyer, 39, and Phineas Float, 31, after the three Brits all pleaded guilty to smuggling the narcotics into the island. The mum-of-three today sobbed as she told Judge Heriyanti that she had no idea that the Angel Delight packets were stuffed with drugs. Collyer, who comforted his wife throughout proceedings, uttered just five words when he addressed judge Heriyanti: 'I won't do it again.' Stocker and Collyer, from East Sussex, were arrested at Bali's international airport on February 1. Royal insider breaks silence on Prince Harry peace talks with telling update After it emerged that Harry & Meghan's aides had met with the King's, a royal insider has offered fresh insight into the secret peace talks - and revealed what the summit in London means for future relations between father and son. Harry's chief communications officer, and Liam Maguire, who runs Harry and Meghan's UK public relations team, met the King's communications secretary Tobyn Andreae at the Royal Over-Seas League in London last week. The meeting has been described by sources as informal, with casual drinks intended to open a channel of communication between both camps. And now, one royal insider has told PEOPLE magazine: "It was a good first step. It is always better to be talking." They added: "It's a positive step. There's optimism that it can be taken forward."
