Capgemini, Mistral AI and SAP partner on AI for regulated sectors
Technology companies Capgemini, Mistral AI and SAP have joined forces to offer an array of artificial intelligence (AI) models for the regulated industry. Capgemini said the collaboration aims to establish a 'trusted and secure' framework for deploying bespoke AI solutions within SAP environments, with a focus on industries that face stringent data requirements, including financial services, the public sector, aerospace and defence, and energy and utilities. By combining Mistral AI's generative AI models with the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), Capgemini plans to develop low-carbon, business-ready AI use cases that are accessible and scalable. Capgemini chief strategy and development officer and group executive board member Fernando Alvarez said: 'Enterprises are increasingly turning to generative AI to enhance their resilience, streamline operations and accelerate time to value. 'As a trusted business and technology transformation partner to our clients, Capgemini is committed to helping them evolve their critical business processes through the secure and tailored application of AI.' The integration of AI, Capgemini said, will support businesses in building resilience by modelling scenarios, planning for disruptions, and responding to market shifts. It also offers a competitive edge by enabling tailored customer experiences, adaptive supply chains, and enriched digital services. However, organisations in highly regulated industries or those managing sensitive data often struggle to access these benefits due to strict compliance requirements. Addressing this, the partnership will offer secure, advanced generative AI capabilities within platforms such as the self-hosted SAP BTP. As part of the initiative, Capgemini will offer over 50 pre-designed, industry-specific AI applications, built with Mistral AI's models and certified by SAP. These solutions are designed to align with responsible AI principles, ensuring data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance. Mistral AI executive board member and global head of revenue Marjorie Janiewicz said: 'By combining our frontier, multilingual and highly customisable AI models with Capgemini's expertise in delivering real world industry-specific generative AI solutions, and the assurance of SAP's robust technology platform, we are making the effective integration of AI more accessible for all organisations, including those in highly regulated industries.' Earlier this month, Mistral AI launched Le Chat Enterprise, an enterprise-focused AI assistant. Le Chat Enterprise, equipped with the Mistral Medium 3 model, addresses enterprise AI challenges such as tool fragmentation, insecure knowledge integration, rigid models, and slow ROI. "Capgemini, Mistral AI and SAP partner on AI for regulated sectors " was originally created and published by Verdict, a GlobalData owned brand. Mistral announces new AI model Medium 3 at 8x lower cost
French AI startup Mistral has introduced a frontier-level AI model, Mistral Medium 3. The new model from the Paris-based AI company is said to have outperformed models like Claude Sonnet 3.7 and GPT-4o on numerous benchmarks. The new model reportedly costs less than DeepSeek V3. The company has said that organisations can use the new model through its new AI assistant called Le Chat Enterprise that features an agent builder and allows full integration with a variety of apps. Mistral has also teased a more powerful model which will be introduced in the coming weeks. Mistral Medium 3 is said to be pushing efficiency and usability of language models even further. Mistral claims that the new Medium 3 brings a new class of models that balances state-of-the-art performance, is 8x lower in cost, and offers simple deployability to accelerate enterprise usage. The model also leads in professional use cases like coding and multimodal understanding. When it comes to enterprise capabilities, Medium 3 offers hybrid or on-premises in-VPC deployment, custom post-training, and allows integration into enterprise tools and systems. According to the company, the model performs at or above 90 per cent of Claude Sonnet 3.7 on benchmarks across the board at a considerably lower cost – $0.4 input/$2 output per M token. Medium 3 has also surpassed models such as Llama 4 Maverick and enterprise models like Cohere Command A. When it comes to pricing in terms of API and self-deployed systems, the model beats DeepSeek V3. It can also be deployed on any cloud, including self-hosted environments of four GPUs and above. The company claims the model is designed to be frontier-class, particularly in categories of professional use. When it comes to benchmarks, Mistral Medium 3 delivers top performance in instruction following (ArenaHard: 97.1%) and math (Math500: 91%), with strong results in long context tasks (RULER 32K: 96%). In terms of human evaluations, Medium 3 outperforms competitors, especially in coding. The model beats Claude Sonnet 3.7, DeepSeek 3.1, and GPT-4o in several cases.

Mistral claims its newest AI model delivers leading performance for the price
French AI startup Mistral is releasing a new AI model, Mistral Medium 3, that's focused on efficiency without compromising performance. Available in Mistral's API priced at $0.40 per million input tokens and $20.80 per million output tokens, Mistral Medium 3 performs 'at or above' 90% of Anthropic's costlier Claude Sonnet 3.7 model on 'benchmarks across the board,' claims Mistral. It also surpasses recent open models including Meta's Llama 4 Maverick and Cohere's Command A on popular AI performance evaluations. Tokens are the raw bits of data models work with, with a million tokens equivalent to about 750,000 words (roughly 163,000 words longer than 'War and Peace'). 'Mistral Medium 3 can […] be deployed on any cloud, including self-hosted environments of four GPUs and above,' explained Mistral in a blog post sent to TechCrunch. 'On pricing, the model beats cost leaders such as DeepSeek v3, both in API and self-deployed systems.' Mistral, founded in 2023, is a frontier model lab, aiming to build a range of AI-powered services including a chatbot platform, Le Chat, and mobile apps. It's backed by VCs including General Catalyst, and has raised over €1.1 billion (roughly $1.24 billion) to date. Mistral's customers include BNP Paribas, AXA, and Mirakl. According to Mistral, Mistral Medium 3 is best for coding and STEM tasks, and excels at multimodal understanding. The company says that customers in financial services, energy, and healthcare have been beta testing the model for use cases like customer service, workflow automation, and analyzing complex data sets. In addition to Mistral's API, where enterprise customers can work with Mistral to fine-tune it, Mistral Medium 3 is available on Amazon's Sagemaker platform starting today. It'll soon come to other hosts, including Microsoft's Azure AI Foundry and Google Cloud Vertex, the company added.
