Israel army locks all Ibrahimi Mosque's doors

Hebron - Saba: The Palestinian Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs announced that Israeli authorities have placed locks on all doors of the Ibrahimi Mosque. The door of the tomb of Joseph, peace be upon him, the door of the "incense burner" room, the door of the call to prayer room, and the door of the custodians' room in the occupied section. The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) quoted the ministry as saying in a statement issued on Monday that the enemy's actions constitute a dangerous step aimed at clearly undermining the ministry's sovereignty over the Ibrahimi Mosque, its corridors, courtyards, rooms, and internal and external doors. The statement added that this matter requires a serious stance from the international community, holding this unjust occupation accountable for its responsibility to protect religious sites, refrain from attacking them, and refrain from attempting to control and steal them, especially in light of its attacks that aim, gradually and systematically, to transform the mosque into a synagogue where Jewish Talmudic prayers are performed. Sheikh Moataz Abu Sneineh, director of the Ibrahimi Mosque, emphasized that the keys to all the shrines and corridors in the mosque belong to the Islamic Waqf, which has sovereignty and legal jurisdiction over them. This constitutes a blatant and dangerous attack on the sanctity of these places, which may not be violated by any right or in any way. The Palestinian Endowments called on the people of Hebron to confront these attacks with steadfastness and perseverance within the sanctuary by performing prayers and various religious activities. Israeli settlers stormed Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa compound 20 times in February —  report

LONDON: Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa compound in East Jerusalem's Old City almost 20 times in February, according to a monthly report by the Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs. The ministry also reported that the number of Israeli settlers touring the Al-Aqsa compound under police protection increased in February. During the same period, Israeli authorities blocked calls to prayer at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron a total of 44 times. Israeli authorities prevented some employees from accessing the mosque in February following the removal of the mosque's director, Sheikh Moataz Abu Sneineh, from the site, the ministry said. Access to the mosque, located in Hebron's Old City, is possible only through an Israeli military checkpoint that surrounds the area. The ministry condemned the Israeli escalation in Jerusalem and Hebron as Israel announced new restrictions on access to Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan, which began on Saturday. It said that measures introduced at Hebron's Ibrahimi Mosque were an attempt to 'empty the mosque of its people and employees.' Israeli violations were also documented against several West Bank mosques during night raids and military operations in February. These included Barqa Mosque, northwest of Nablus, and Salah Al-Din Mosque in the town of Abu Dis, in East Jerusalem. In Kasra village, south of Nablus, the ministry said Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters in front of the town's mosque during the Maghreb call to prayer, causing difficulty in breathing for some worshippers inside the mosque. The ministry urged international organizations to halt Israeli violations in order to preserve religious, heritage, and historical sites in Palestine, according to a statement.

Occupation prevents hundreds of worshipers from performing Friday prayers at Ibrahimi Mosque

Occupied Quds - Saba: The Zionist occupation authorities prevented hundreds of worshipers from reaching the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron to perform Friday prayers, as part of the restrictions imposed on the checkpoints leading to the mosque. The director of the Ibrahimi Mosque, Moataz Abu Sneineh, told the Palestinian Safa Agency that the occupation forces prevented more than 500 worshipers from reaching the mosque, while only 200 worshipers were able to perform the prayer. He added that the strict security measures at the checkpoints led to checking the identities of citizens and abusing them. Abu Sneineh stressed the need to preserve the Islamic identity of the mosque, despite the restrictions, to confront attempts to Judaize it. He pointed out that the occupation has continued to impose closures since October 7, 2023, including the closure of the Abu al-Rish checkpoint through which most worshipers passed. He added that the security tensions created by the occupation aim to displace Palestinians from the area in order to strengthen Israeli control over the mosque and its surroundings.
