Samsung just announced early Galaxy S25 FE launch — confirms new tri-fold and XR headset are coming this year

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Anyone waiting for the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is in for a treat, as the company has revealed an expedited timeline for the launch. While the executives didn't reveal a launch date, Daniel Araujo, VP of Samsung's Mobile Experience division, did say it would launch early. "For the Galaxy S25 series, we will focus on maintaining sales momentum with seasonal promotions as well as an earlier launch of the S25 FE," Araujo said to investors during an earnings call (via Android Authority). And on top of that, the company also confirmed that is much anticipated Project Moohan XR headset is on-track to launch this year too! What does "earlier" mean? In the case of the Galaxy S24 FE, Samsung released the phone in October. Considering we're almost in August, the phone would have to come out later this month or next month to be considered "earlier." And it's not just the Galaxy S25 FE that Samsung spoke about. Samsung plans to reveal several other high-profile devices in the second half of 2025. It even called out the tri-fold — a highly anticipated device that could bring the new form factor to a more mainstream audience. Of course, we expect that device to be prohibitively expensive, so it might not penetrate the market that quickly. Samsung's 2025 back half Samsung has a strong lineup for the back half of 2025 if all of these devices launch. There's no reason to think the Galaxy S25 FE would be delayed, but given how long we've been waiting for the tri-fold and Project Moohan XR headset, it's a case of 'I'll believe it when I see it.' If they all come out — plus the teased budget-friendly A-series phones — Samsung could be in for a great year. And let's not forget that the company just launched the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. And once 2025 is in the rearview mirror, Samsung still has the Galaxy S26 series of phones coming in 2026 — we expect big things from these devices. Samsung confirms earlier launch for Galaxy S25 FE, teases more big releases for 2025

SammyGuru TL;DR Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S25 FE will launch earlier this year. An August or early September release is likely, meaning it could go on sale well before October. The company also shared its plans to launch its first tri-fold phone, XR headset, new entry-level Galaxy A phones, and the Galaxy Tab S11 series later in 2025. Samsung has just released its Q2 2025 financial results, and along with the numbers came a preview of what's next for the tech giant's mobile division. Among the most notable revelations, Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy S25 FE is coming earlier than last year. Daniel Araujo, VP of Samsung's Mobile Experience division, stated during the earnings call: For the Galaxy S25 series, we will focus on maintaining sales momentum with seasonal promotions as well as an earlier launch of the S25 FE. This points to a potential August or early September reveal for the phone, pulling it ahead of the Galaxy S24 FE's late September 2024 launch and subsequent October release. The earlier timeline for the Galaxy S25 FE launch may be part of Samsung's broader strategy to make room for a packed release schedule later in the year. The company also confirmed during the call that it plans to unveil several other high-profile devices in the second half of 2025, including its first-ever 'tri-fold' smartphone. Samsung also said that its long-anticipated Project Moohan XR headset is on track to launch later this year alongside new entry-level models in the Galaxy A series, presumably including the recently leaked Galaxy A17. The next-generation Galaxy Tab S11 series is also coming, as Samsung confirmed to Android Authority back in July. Follow

Samsung announces Galaxy Watch upgrades for better sleep, fitness, and recovery

Samsung has just announced new health features for the upcoming Galaxy Watch (which should be the Galaxy Watch 8 series, although the company doesn't specifically say it) aimed at further improving your health and daily habits for a healthier lifestyle overall. The new features are aimed at improving sleep, heart health, fitness, and nutrition. Here are the new features Samsung has announced today: Bedtime Guidance: for optimizing your sleep habits Vascular Load: measuring stress on your vascular system when you sleep Running Coach: strategizing your training Antioxidant Index: measuring carotenoids for healthy aging With these new features, Samsung aims to help you become healthier by motivating you through instant feedback, providing rewards for successes or indicating warning signs. -Dr. Hon Pak, Senior Vice President and Head of Digital Health Team, Mobile eXperience, Samsung Electronics. Dr. Pak also says that the new insights should lead to meaningful changes in users' lives and health management. Now, let's see exactly how these features work. Image Credit - Samsung Thanks to this feature, your Galaxy Watch will now suggest an optimal bedtime for you. This will be based on your lifestyle and sleep patterns, and your timepiece will also send you reminders to help you stick to a healthier bedtime routine. The feature works by analyzing your past three days' sleep patterns and evaluating your need for sleep pressure and your circadian rhythm. The suggested bedtime should maximize your alertness the next day. You may find this especially useful if you're trying to optimize your sleep after a period of irregular sleep (I find myself in this situation way too often for my own good). This is also super helpful if you have inconsistent sleep schedules between weekdays and weekends (yours truly is also guilty of that). All these factors will be taken into account by the feature, so the suggested bedtime should offer you an adequate amount of sleep. Image Credit - Samsung The Galaxy Watch will measure the amount of stress on your vascular system while you sleep as well. Basically, your vascular system carries blood throughout the body and delivers oxygen, and nutrients, while removing you sleep, stress on your vascular system should naturally dip. However, Samsung notes, that excessive fluctuations can impact your cardiovascular health and overall wellbeing. The feature will measure your vascular load and provide insights, taking into account sleep, exercise, and stress. Image Credit - Samsung Samsung is seeking to support runners with a new feature that should help you avoid getting injuries. Often, people who run can over-pace themselves, or not optimally push themselves. To help with that, Running Coach will offer you optimized-intensity and injury-preventing training suggestions, which makes it ideal for beginners or people who are not running all the time. The feature offers real-time guidance and motivation, providing you with a tailored training program based on your fitness level and your goals. When you wear your watch, you just need to run for 12 minutes for it to analyze your performance and running level. The smartwatch will then give you a running level from 1 to 10. You will also get a detailed training plan to help you complete a 5K, 10K, half marathon, or full marathon, based on your level. When you complete your training session, you'll also level up and have running challenges. Image Credit - Samsung Last, but not least, we have the Antioxidant Index feature. It is aimed at helping you age healthily. Drinking alcohol, smoking, UV exposure, stress and lack of sleep can accelerate agin of your skin by increasing free radicals in the body. These free radicals accelerate aging. Meanwhile, antioxidants are nutrients that are found in many healthy foods. Those neutralize the free radicals and help prevent illnesses and promote healthy aging. With this new Antioxidant Index, your Galaxy Watch will measure carotenoids (antioxidants found in green and orange veggies and fruit and stored in your skin). The Watch's BioActive sensor is used to measure carotenoids in five seconds. Of course, you'll then have insights that can help you improve your daily habits. For example, if you drink carrot juice, the changes in the carotenoids will show up in the index and act as motivation to make healthier choices. All these features are extremely helpful, especially for people like me who would love to improve their health, sleep, and overall wellbeing, but don't really know where to start. And also, needing lots of motivation. Samsung has announced these features for an 'upcoming Galaxy Watch', which is most likely the Galaxy Watch 8 , expected to be announced alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 sometime next month. However, Vascular Load and Antioxidant Indext can also work on the Galaxy Watch Ultra (or later), and the Running Coach feature will be available on Galaxy Watch 7 and later.

A merger between Samsung's LSI and Foundry divisions is getting increasingly likely

Samsung's chip-manufacturing business isn't doing great, and poor yield is partially to blame. Even the Galaxy S25 series switched entirely to Snapdragon this year. Though the Exynos will return to the S26 series if the rumors are correct. The issues with Samsung's LSI (the chip design arm) run so deep that reports suggest a merger between Samsung LSI and another division, most likely Foundry. The initial rumors suggest that Samsung is planning to merge Samsung MX (Mobile Experience) and LSI, but the latest development is pointing to a Foundry-LSI merger instead. A South Korean news outlet says that during an internal meeting at the company, three possible scenarios were discussed - merge LSI into MX, merge LSI into Foundry or massively restructure LSI. According to people familiar with the matter, a merger with Foundry was favored, but no final decision has been made. It's interesting to note that LSI and Foundry were once under the Samsung DS (Device Solutions) division, but they were separated back in 2017 to reduce the chances of conflict of interest with other Samsung Foundry clients like Nvidia and Qualcomm.
