Two hurt in downtown Mobile crash
UPDATE 6/10/25: Mobile Police sent a brief update Tuesday 'The vehicle was traveling south on Lawrence Street when it left the roadway and struck two light poles. The driver and a passenger had to be cut out of the vehicle by Mobile Fire-Rescue and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.' A spokesperson said speed could have been a factor as they continue to investigate.
MOBILE, Ala (WKRG) – Two people are hurt after an SUV crashes in downtown Mobile before dawn Sunday morning. A vehicle crashed into two utility poles and a lamp post Sunday morning at the intersection of Church and South Lawrence Streets.

The SUV ended up on its side. When we arrived one person was out of the vehicle on the ground being treated for injuries. Firefighters were still trying to pull a second person out of the vehicle while News 5 was there.
The crash happened before dawn, after 3 am.
Images and video show the bottom of one power pole was snapped in half, a second utility pole was leaning off center.

We don't know the condition of the two people who were hurt. We've reached out to Mobile Fire Rescue and are waiting to hear back.
