Al-Ahly Flies to US to Participate in Club World Cup
Taarek Refaat The Al-Ahly first football team delegation departed Cairo International Airport on Wednesday evening, en route to the United States to participate in the 2025 Club World Cup, which will run from June 14 to July 13, with 32 teams participating for the first time in history. The delegation is scheduled to spend a transit period at Dubai Airport in the United Arab Emirates before continuing on to Miami. Al Ahly is in Group A of the Club World Cup, along with Inter Miami of the United States, Porto of Portugal, and Palmeiras of Brazil. The team's camp will begin upon arrival, and will include a friendly match on June 8 against Mexican club Pachuca, in preparation for their match against American club Inter Miami in the opening match of the Club World Cup. Egypt's Sisi reviews preparations for relocating Zahraa Arabian Horse Breeding Station to New Administrative Capital
CAIRO – 3 May 2025: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was updated on the latest developments in the national project to develop the Al-Zahraa Arabian Horse Breeding Station Ain Shams, which due to be relocated in the new administrative capital, said the Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy in a statement on May 3, 2025. President Sisi met with Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk and Lieutenant General Ashraf Zaher, Director of the Egyptian Military Academy. The station, affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture, is internationally renowned for its pure Arabian bloodlines. Discussions covered the executive measures taken to enhance the station's efficiency, including the deployment of specialized personnel and experts, and the adoption of advanced technologies to ensure optimal development. The meeting also reviewed preparations for relocating the horses to the station's new headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. Constructed to international standards, the new facility can accommodate approximately 1,000 horses and includes a fully equipped veterinary hospital. This relocation is part of a broader strategy to restore and elevate Zahraa Station's global reputation in Arabian horse breeding, supporting breeding, sales, exports, and participation in international auctions and festivals. Ambassador El-Shenawy added that the official inauguration of the new Zahraa Station will coincide with the annual Zahraa Festival in 2025. In this context, the President called for a comprehensive plan to upgrade the existing Ain Shams facility, thereby preserving and enhancing Egypt's heritage in purebred horse breeding. He also directed the implementation of digitization and mechanization, alongside the training and preparation of specialized personnel, to ensure the new station is fully equipped to produce elite Egyptian Arabian horses recognized worldwide for their quality and pedigree.

Macron emphasizes strategic, historic partnership with Egypt

He wrote on his official "X" (formerly Twitter) page, "I came to Cairo to reaffirm our desire to make more efforts together in all fields." He added, "I am very pleased to move forward with President El-Sisi for the prosperity of our two countries." President Macron also tweeted, "Egypt, France, and Jordan, hand in hand, to say together that the voice of peace is the only possible option." Egyptian, French, and Jordanian leaders held a joint phone call with US President Donald Trump today, on the sidelines of the tripartite summit held in Cairo on April 7, 2025. The official spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, indicated that the three leaders discussed with President Trump ways to ensure an urgent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, stressing the need to resume full access for the delivery of humanitarian aid and the immediate release of all hostages and detainees. Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy added that the three leaders emphasized the importance of creating the appropriate conditions to achieve a genuine political horizon and mobilize international efforts to end the suffering of the Palestinian people, restore security and peace for all, and implement the two-state solution, noting that the three leaders and President Trump agreed to remain in close contact. The official spokesperson mentioned that the call also addressed the importance of accelerating the achievement of peace in Ukraine in line with international law and the shared need for international security. French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to visit Cairo University, praising its unique character and scientific standing. In his speech during the Egyptian-French Universities Forum, broadcast by "Extra News" channel, he expressed his appreciation to everyone who contributes to strengthening academic cooperation between Egypt and France, stressing that the partnership between the two countries in the field of Egyptology has a long history.

Macron and Sisi discuss bilateral relations and the situation in Gaza
NNA - Egyptian presidential spokesperson, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, said on Saturday that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, to discuss bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them, as well as the situation in the Gaza Strip. The call was part of preparations for Macron's upcoming visit to Egypt, according to Sky News Arabia. The spokesperson added that the call was a chance to discuss the most important cooperation topics to be raised during the visit in line with the interests of the two friendly countries, including the possibility of holding a tripartite Egyptian-French-Jordanian summit in Cairo during the French president's visit to Egypt. El-Shenawy stated that the call addressed "developments in the Gaza Strip, whereby Egyptian efforts to achieve a ceasefire were reviewed. The two presidents emphasized the importance of restoring calm through an immediate ceasefire and the provision of humanitarian aid." He added that they "stressed the importance of the two-state solution as the only guarantee for achieving lasting peace in the region." Macron plans to travel to Egypt on Sunday for a visit that will include the city of Al-Arish, near the Gaza Strip, which he is expected to visit on Tuesday, where he aims to emphasize the need for a "ceasefire" in the Strip and support the delivery of humanitarian aid to its residents.
