Seminar at RIBF Highlights Promoting Intra-Islamic Dialogue
Mohamed Mandour As part of its cultural program at the 30th edition of the Rabat International Book Fair (RIBF), the Muslim Council of Elders hosted its second cultural seminar, titled 'The Problem of the Ummah's Division into Sunnis and Shiites.' The session was moderated by Dr. Mohamed Gamal, a researcher at the Heritage Revival Office of Al-Azhar, and featured a presentation by Dr. Elias Mohamed Belka, Professor at Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University in Fez and Director of Strategic Studies at the Al Hokama Center for Peace Research. Opening the session, Dr. Mohamed Gamal emphasized that the Muslim Council of Elders, under the chairmanship of Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, is undertaking tireless efforts to mend the divisions within the Islamic nation. He highlighted the Grand Imam's 2022 call for intra-Islamic dialogue aimed at rejecting sectarian strife and conflict and reuniting the diverse schools of thought within Islam. These efforts culminated in the first edition of the Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference, held in February this year in the Kingdom of Bahrain under the theme 'One Ummah… One Shared Destiny.' A major outcome of the conference was the Call of the People of the Qibla—a comprehensive charter for unity and reconciliation within the Ummah. Dr. Elias Mohamed Belka, Professor at Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University in Fez and Director of Strategic Studies at the Al Hokama Center for Peace Research, commended the efforts of the Muslim Council of Elders, led by Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, in bridging the divide across the Islamic world. He noted that the Al Hokama Center has given significant attention to the issue of sectarian division, and recently published a book titled 'The Problem of the Ummah's Division into Sunnis and Shiites: Origins and Solutions.' read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Lifestyle Pistachio and Raspberry Cheesecake Domes Recipe News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Videos & Features Bouchra Dahlab Crowned Miss Arab World 2025 .. Innovo Group to launch two real estate projects in Egypt in 2025
UK-based Innovo Group, formerly known as Al Shafar Group, is set to launch two new real estate projects in Egypt this year, according to Mohamed Gamal, Managing Director of Innovo Egypt. The company's real estate development arm, Sky Innovo Developments, will begin construction on its debut project in the Egyptian market, Park Street Edition, immediately following the Eid al-Fitr holiday. Located in New Cairo, the project carries a construction cost of EGP 7bn. Gamal described Park Street Edition as a mixed-use development that integrates residential, commercial, and administrative spaces with a focus on wellness and sustainability. The project spans a land area of 20,000 square meters, with a total built-up area of 65,000 square meters. It marks Innovo's first foray into real estate development in Egypt, a move that aligns with the group's broader expansion strategy both locally and internationally. Speaking during a company press conference, Gamal highlighted Innovo Egypt's ambitious plans for growth in the real estate sector, citing Egypt's stable economic climate and attractive investment environment as key drivers behind its decision to deepen its presence in the country. Innovo's business footprint in Egypt has already surpassed EGP 42bn, with operations covering construction, infrastructure, real estate development, project financing, management, and strategic investments. The company has delivered numerous high-profile projects for both the public and private sectors. These include contracts with the New Urban Communities Authority and the Urban Development Fund, as well as 12 developments for Emaar Misr. Gamal also revealed that Innovo is exploring opportunities to participate in construction work for the Ras El-Hekma development, a mega project along Egypt's North Coast. As part of its broader diversification strategy, Innovo is planning to enter new sectors in Egypt, including data centers and the industrial sector. The company is currently studying multiple opportunities to undertake infrastructure and interior fit-out work for data center projects, as well as assess potential investments in industrial developments. In line with global sustainability trends, Innovo has also intensified its focus on environmentally responsible building practices. In late March, the company announced a strategic partnership with the Egypt Green Building Council (EGBC) to promote sustainable development across the real estate and construction sectors. This collaboration is aimed at advancing energy-efficient construction techniques, reducing carbon emissions, and enhancing the overall sustainability of urban development projects in Egypt.

CIBF Discusses Advancing Translation in Islamic Studies
The stand of the Muslim Council of Elders at the Cairo International Book Fair hosted its sixth cultural seminar, titled 'Islamic Studies and the Movement of Translation: Principles and Prospects.' The seminar featured Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Awad, Professor of Literary Criticism at the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, and was moderated by Dr. Mohamed Gamal, a researcher at the Office for the Revival of Islamic Heritage at Al-Azhar Headquarters. At the beginning of the seminar, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Awad pointed out that following the advent of Islam, Arabs became leaders in thought and culture during an era when other nations were engulfed in ignorance and darkness. He noted that, at certain points in history, other nations sought knowledge and culture from Muslims, which positively influenced the movement of translation. He urged Muslims to reclaim this intellectual and cultural leadership once again. The professor of literary criticism at Ain Shams University also highlighted the challenges facing the translation of Islamic sciences into other languages, emphasizing two key points. First, he urged governments to adopt and support academic translation initiatives, given their profound impact on the thoughts and cultures of other societies. Second, he encouraged private companies and institutions to contribute to the development of translation as part of their intellectual and social responsibility. Prof. Awad further encouraged skilled Muslim translators, proficient in both Arabic (as the source language) and the target languages, to invest significant efforts in translating the Glorious Quran into other languages. He emphasized the importance of such work in conveying messages of justice, mercy, peace, and coexistence to non-Muslims. The Muslim Council of Elders is participating with a dedicated stand at the 56th Cairo International Book Fair, running from January 23 to February 5, 2025. The stand features a wide range of the Council's distinguished publications and organizes a series of seminars, activities, and events aimed at promoting the values of goodness, love, peace, and coexistence among all humanity.
