Italian pavilion shines at Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show

His Excellency Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, visited the Italian Pavilion along with His Excellency Mohamed Rashid Ali Demas, His Excellency Ali Hilal Al Hazami, and Mona Sultan Al Suwaidi. The delegation explored the premium jewellery offerings and celebrated the strong economic ties between the UAE and Italy.
Record Italian participation reflects growing trade ties
This year's Italian Pavilion featured around 50 brands, a 15% increase from the previous edition, making Italy the largest international participant in the show. The surge reflects Italy's position as the third-largest global supplier and Europe's leading exporter of jewellery to the UAE, with 2024 exports exceeding €1.22 billion.
Exclusive designs cater to discerning clients
Italian exhibitors highlighted that all showcased items were designed and produced specifically for this event, emphasizing exclusivity, sophistication, and high craftsmanship. The focus on limited editions appeals to clients seeking rare and superior-quality jewellery.
Jewellery trade continues to grow
In February 2025 alone, Italy exported €238 million worth of jewellery to the UAE—a 24% increase compared to the same period in 2024—solidifying Italy's 5% share in the UAE's total jewellery import market. Italian design and craftsmanship continue to resonate strongly with UAE consumers.
