EU congratulates new HCS leadership headed by Takala
The European Union welcomed the announcement of the election of the new leadership of the High Council of State (HCS), headed by Mohamed Takala, praising the recognition of this leadership by the UN mission.
In a statement, the EU reaffirmed the UN mission's call for constructive participation to enhance internal consensus and enable the Council to perform its role.
The bloc also emphasized its strong support for a Libyan-led, Libyan-owned political process facilitated by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).
The EU delegation to Libya expressed its firm commitment to supporting the Libyan people's aspirations for peace, unity, and good governance.
On Monday, the UN mission had congratulated the newly elected leadership of the HCS, chosen during a session held on Sunday with the participation of 95 members. Tags: European Union High Council of State
