Thai King's Cup: Team Regu Garners Second Group B Victory
KUALA LUMPUR, July 24 (Bernama) -- The national men's sepak takraw regu continued their excellent run in the 35th Thai King's Cup Championship campaign after recording their second victory with a 3-0 win over Myanmar in Group B in Songkhla, tonight. In the action held at the Hatyai Hall, Central Hatyai Shopping Centre, the country's first regu of experienced players, Mohammad Syahir Mohd Rosdi, Mohammad Azlan Alias and Farhan Adam, did not disappoint when they easily defeated Myanmar's first regu 2-0 (15-10, 15-9). The excellent momentum was followed by the action of the country's second regu which featured Muhammad Zarif Marican Ibrahim Marican, Muhammad Shahalril Aiman Halim and Aidil Aiman Azwawi to secure a second victory for Malaysia in 2-1 (15-12, 6-15, 15-13).

At the Hatyai Hall, Central Hatyai Shopping Centre, the first regu, comprising seasoned players Mohammad Syahir Mohd Rosdi, Mohammad Azlan Alias, and Farhan Adam, overwhelmed Myanmar's opener 2-0 (15-10, 15-9). The momentum continued with the second regu: Muhammad Zarif Marican Ibrahim Marican, Muhammad Shahalril Aiman Halim, and Aidil Aiman Azwawi edged past their opponents 2-1 (15-12, 6-15, 15-13) to extend Malaysia's lead. Victory was sealed by the third regu, with Muhammad Haziq Hairul Nizam, Muhammad Noraizat Mohd Nordin, and Norfaizzul Abd Razak closing the match 2-0 (15-9, 15-10). Malaysia had earlier opened their campaign with a convincing 3-0 win over South Korea. Malaysia continues their Group B fixture against Laos. In the men's quadrant event, Malaysia topped Group A after a 2-0 win against Singapore (15-6, 15-12), booking a semi-final clash against Group B runners-up India.
