MES celebrates 79th Indian I-Day with patriotic zeal

M.E.S. Indian School, Doha, celebrated the 79th Independence Day of India with immense pride and patriotic fervour on Friday, 15th August 2025, in its KG Hall. The programme began at 8:20 a.m., bringing together students, staff, and dignitaries in a meaningful tribute to the nation's independence.
The celebration commenced with an introduction by Mohammed Abdul Muqeet, head prefect, followed by a solemn prayer led by Saliq Riyaz. Mohamad Kamal Ali Badran, head boy, delivered the welcome address, expressing gratitude for the freedom enjoyed today and honouring the sacrifices of India's freedom fighters.
The Indian National Flag was hoisted by the Principal (Officiating), Mohammed Ilias, in a moment of great national pride. The school choir led the gathering in singing the Indian National Anthem, followed by a stirring patriotic song that echoed the spirit of unity and devotion to the homeland.
Delivering the Independence Day message, Mohammed Ilias, emphasized the importance of remembering the legacy of India's struggle for freedom. He encouraged students to uphold values such as integrity, respect, and service to the nation, reminding them of their role as the future torchbearers of India's democratic ideals.
The school management's steadfast support and guidance played a crucial role in the successful planning and execution of the celebration. Their unwavering commitment to fostering patriotism and holistic development among students was reflected throughout the programme.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Jis Thomas, cultural secretary, acknowledging the leadership, coordination, and enthusiastic participation that made the celebration a grand success.
The celebration served as a fitting tribute to the nation and a powerful reminder to all present, to protect and cherish the hard-earned freedom of India. Teachers in-charge from different sections coordinated the event.
