Team Falcons Secures Overwatch 2 Champions at Esports World Cup 2025
Team Falcons has clinched the Overwatch 2 Championship at the Esports World Cup (EWC) in Riyadh following a decisive 4-0 victory over Al-Qadsiah in the final match, according to the Saudi Press Agency. Team Falcons secured the first place and a total cash prize pool of $400,000, as well as 1,000 points in the global club championship ranking. By securing the second place, Al-Qadsiah team earned $180,000 and 750 points. Meanwhile, Twisted Minds clinched the third place after winning their match for the bronze, receiving a prize pool of $100,000 and 500 points. After securing the fourth place, the South Korean team T1 won a cash prize of $60,000 and 300 points. The tournament brought together 16 teams from around the world, competing over four days at the stc Arena in Riyadh City Boulevard, capturing the attention of several fans throughout the competition. 'The team had to go through a longer path during the competition, passing through the qualifying stages and reaching the finals,' Mohammed Al-Mutairi, General Manager of Team Falcons, said. 'But everyone did a great job and showed a strong will to reach the final and win the title.' he added. Al-Mutairi also underscored that winning Overwatch 2 will alleviate the pressure on the team members in the remaining tournaments and put Team Falcons in a strong position to sustain the World Esports Cup title for the second year in a row. By concluding the Overwatch 2 competition, the 2025 Esports World Cup wraps up the fourth week, which witnessed other popular gaming competitions such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and PUBG Mobile, along with chess, which made its debut at the largest event in the global gaming and esports sector. 2025 Esports World Cup Currently, the 2025 Esports World Cup is bringing together 24 of the world's top games in one venue. Saudi Arabia chairs parliamentary talks in Algeria
RIYADH: The Association of Secretaries-General of Arab Parliaments held its 46th meeting in the Algerian capital, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday. It was chaired by Mohammed Al-Mutairi, secretary-general of the Saudi Shoura Council and chairman of the association, in the presence of heads of Arab councils and parliaments. The meeting focused on developing employees' technical and administrative skills, the SPA reported. The secretaries-general shared insights on best practices in human resource development, emphasizing skill enhancement and adequate training for legislative staff. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 38th Conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union in Algiers, where the agenda was reviewed and various topics related to cooperation and the strengthening of joint Arab action were discussed. Established on April 3, 1995, the association aims to build bridges of cooperation between Arab and international councils and parliaments.
